Antique Drag Saw [Restoration] - Everything is broken

I’m a new patron too. I didn’t know what I was missing without the narration. It’s definitely worth becoming a patron for that extra knowledge. Thanks!

Dale Robson

Narrated videos for Patrons will always be here!

Hand Tool Rescue

New Patreon; been watching on YouTube for a long time. Are narrated posts going away, or was the Drag Saw the 'special narrated episode" and this is the final episode? I'll stay a Patreon either way. Love the show.

This was "Oil-soaked Ash" apparently.

Hand Tool Rescue

Ridiculous!

Hand Tool Rescue

Definitely.

Hand Tool Rescue

Soon my child.

The wooden arm is a shock-absorber. Most cutter bars for farm tractors use the same mechanism. Usually hickory for the "springiness".

Barry LaBonte

That is roughly a 3 litre single cylinder engine. Wow!

Michael Steeves

The wooden sin arm is possible a mechanical fuse. If the saw blade gets jammed, an easily remade board with two holes breaks instead a casting.

Kadah

Oh I have something to look forward to. You getting this murder machine up and running . you do find all the cool toys

Christopher Woolley

Great vid as always , but you keep teasing the big wrench. Yes I see it and would like to my own.

Christopher Woolley

Thanks for joining! Oh it will be many colours!

Hand Tool Rescue

Almost too interesting...

Hand Tool Rescue

From the way Eric is going on about it, that might a very long time away!

Stuart Young

Made just 15 miles from me I've seen a lot of Ottowa engines at the annual steam and old engine shows around here. I agree that Christmas green and red are the go to colors. Happy to finally be able to join your patreon.

James Boatright

Interesting, very interesting.

Amazing!

Thank you!

Hand Tool Rescue

Thanks Marc. I definitely would have not tackled something like this years ago.

Hand Tool Rescue

Thanks! What about part 17?

Hand Tool Rescue

Hahaha, please do!

Hand Tool Rescue

Thanks!

Hand Tool Rescue

This will be 423 parts.

Hand Tool Rescue

OR WAS IT?!

Hand Tool Rescue

Thanks for joining!

Hand Tool Rescue

Me too!

Hand Tool Rescue

Thanks for sharing this with us. These huge tools are always very special. I am currently working on some smaller hand tools like Apple Peelers and such and I can't even imagine dealing with a huge saw like this. In every of your videos there's something I can learn. Last week I got my Wrenchy McWrenchface and it's plain awesome. Can't wait for part 2.

Marco

I just have simple admiration for your determination, and its been fun to follow you over time and see your skills broaden and deepen. Impressive!

Marc McKenzie

ITS HAPPENING!

Please indicate in the title that this is part one of a series because I would have saved it until all parts are released if I had known!

Jochen Römling

Bravo! Your narration is brilliant. I can hardly wait for part 2.

Janet Dupree

I swear, im gonna take a week's vacation and fly out there to show you the lost dark arts of cast iron welding with oxy fuel... I could even show you more modern dark arts of cast iron if we could make it to a welding store FFS you even have a henrob torch! (I'm only slightly jealous....)

Clifton Ballad

I love the work you did to hide the repairs - brilliant!

Peter Laws

I was kinda sad when it was only 40 minutes, but then found out it was only part 1!

Ryan LaValley

Not many people know this, but Saskatchewan used to be carpeted in magnificent prairie redwoods. HUGE trees they were, up to six feet across. All gone now thanks to saws like this one. It's a sad story, and complete bullshit. :) Enjoyed the video, bud. Keep 'em coming.

Dan Johnston

These narrated videos are always entertaining and surprisingly therapeutic! Thanks for this.

Yeet! Been waiting a long time for this one!
