Glad you discovered gloves! Every time I see that paint stripper bubbling and you grabbing the part with bare hands, a nerve ganglion in me dies (metaphorically). Great video!

You're crazy to run that thing without the bone in the place... how are you supposed to tension the belt properly?

Oh! As for your press... keep an eye out for a Weaver press. I've got a 20-ton version and it is just lovely, I rescued it from being "yard art" in Seattle. Mine doesn't have the arbor function that some had, but thanks to the way it works it can still do a pretty good job pressing bearings. Here's a video that shows you how they work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z-EpJzNKIc

I recommend an inside circlip, rather than an outside circlip, for retaining that boss on the clamp adjusting screw. Otherwise nice job on what doesn't look like the most well-made tool there is... I've got an older/nicer power hacksaw and it's lovely to run, but previous owners drilled a bunch of extra holes in the bed for clamping work at various angles, and they've all been ovaled out... it's a mess. Someday I'll get it all welded up.
