Better than Netflix…
Added 2024-09-22 12:37:40 +0000 UTCAn honest admission about my current personal situation and where I’m at with my two Patreons before I explain the title of this blog post (bear with me as I need your help later on!).
It’s always been my dream that I would get to a point with two Patreons that I would be able to earn enough that it became a full time pursuit and I could quit my day job.
Currently there’s a strong chance that my day job is about to quit me! A job losses are looming where I work.
The Bun in the Oven Patreon peaked in July 2022 with its most subscribers and spurred to launch the Va Va Womb Patreon with art and animation for hyperpregnancy and birth themes. Since then I’m doing double the art but my income and patron numbers have tumbled to half of their peak.
Whatever the outcome of my job situation, it has got me thinking about where things are with the Bun in the Oven Patreon and Va Va Womb Patreon.
Clear things aren’t easy for everyone out there and a common exit survey answer is that patrons are leaving is ‘My financial situation has changed’. Some patrons have reached out to me saying that they still love the art but they have bills to pay and every penny counts. For others it’s just a slight reset of the situation - moving home, job etc.
It got me thinking that as people go down their lists of things to cancel What would it take for them to cancel their second streaming service or even only streaming service rather than cancelling their subscription to my Patreon?
Or even more grandiose.. How good would Bun in the Oven need to be to be better than Netflix?
You can stop laughing now! In all seriousness what content would you like to see and you feel would be so compelling that having a Bun in the Oven subscription almost feels like one of life’s essentials for someone into pregnancy content?
