Sly's training- and long con- begins, and he's learning to use his sticky fingers to aid his growing appetite. Enjoy!
**************
Sly got his first glance at the Yokozuna Koemon Icon on his first day enrolling at the Sumo Stable. The stable was located right next to the tomb the raccoon needed to pilfer, and the icon was a point of pride for them— pity they would need to find a new icon, then. It was one of the most tantalizing trinkets and artifacts Sly had ever spied, an artfully made statue of an enormously fat tanuki wrought in gold, and soon, it would be his.
Murray had given him a few bulking tips, but Sly had to admit, it was a lot harder than just sitting around and eating all day— there were drills and exercises, a highly disciplined, rigorous daily routine that barely left Sly room to breathe, and there was a steep learning curve. Sticky fingers and fast reflexes mattered little when you had to directly push a huge, five hundred pound fox out of a ring.
Still, his sleight of hand was useful in a few places… when it came to swiping food from other members of the stable, for example. The one redeeming feature this monastic lifestyle had, Sly had to admit, was the excellent quality of food. Hearty bowls of rice, beef, chicken, pork, rolls of sushi, spring rolls, rich broths, anything he wanted, it was provided— but he did keep himself sharp by swiping bites from the others, just to prove to himself he still could despite the extra bulk.
All that extra food, however, was having a profound effect on the raccoon. His lithe body was completely buried under the pounds packed on by the thousands upon thousands of calories, his limbs growing solid and hefty to keep him moving, while his middle unfurled in a huge, grey boulder of a belly that soon filled his lap whenever he sat down for another massive meal. The raccoon was beginning to feel the weight pile on, the space he filled with his wide haunches and large, round body— part of him was quietly panicking, wondering how long it would take to work all of this weight off, but another part of him grew increasingly curious, and even eager, to see what this new body could do during his first upcoming match…
