Mao Mao Muscle Growth

A Somewhat Decent Person wanted Mao Mao going musclebound, and here I am to oblige- so sorry for the delay on these folks, I'm going to try and get the rest out this week!

Ever since Mao Mao and Badgerclops had cracked the Ruby Pure Heart, the gigantic crystal had been acting strange. Its original purpose of protecting the Pure Heart Valley was no longer viable, leading to Mao Mao's many adventures as Pure Heart Valley's sheriff. But after the many monster fights and battles against Orangusnake, the black cat found himself turning more and more towards the Ruby Pure Heart- it was just sitting there, a gigantic source of power, completely untapped, and perhaps unstable. He had seen little anomalies from the Heart affecting both his deputies, Adorabat and Badgerclops, and he began to wonder… what could the Heart do for him?

It was late at night when Mao Mao scaled the walls of King Snugglemagne's castle, until he was at the highest point of the tallest tower, right next to the ruby. His ears twitched, an electric hum in the air.

"Alright, Ruby, it's time you and me had a little talk," Mao Mao began, narrowing his eyes as he looked up at the huge crack he caused in the gem's surface. "You've been acting strange, creating monsters, making Adorabat act crazy- well, crazier- you're messing with the Valley. I don't like it, and frankly, whatever's inside you, I don't think I like you."

The ruby, being a ruby, said nothing- but perhaps it was a trick of the moonlight, Mao Mao swore the gem darkened. "Okay, listen, listen! Orangusnake is still out there, and he wants to steal you. Drain you of your power. You don't want that, and I don't want that. So I'm here to cut a deal. I want you to cut the crap and stop letting your magic juju or whatever it is leak out- and I'll make sure Orangusnake doesn't steal you. But to stop him once and for all, I need a little bit of a boost. That's where you come in." Mao Mao held out his arms. "Make me legendary, Ruby! And those sky pirates won't bother you anymore. We got a deal?"

The night air was still as the cat held out his arms for several pregnant moments… and then nothing. Mao Mao frowned, letting his arms drop. "Well, that's what I get for talking to inanimate objects… I told you this was a stupid idea, Geraldine!" Mao Mao growled, slapping his sword.

That electric hum he heard picked up again, now growing louder. Turning back, Mao Mao saw the ruby glowing brighter, as if it were charging up. "Aw, sh-"

A bolt of magical energy, pulsing a brilliant wine-red, shot the cat like a freight train, knocking him from his perch. He sailed through the air, and hit the main plaza outside the castle, cracking the stone in a large crater.

"...Ow." Mao Mao groaned. Somehow, he was still alive- and glowing the same wine-red hue as the Ruby Pure Heart. "Oh, no- am I pink?"

Some of the Sweetiepies who had been shocked awake by the sheriff's landing began inching closer.

"Looks more like… puce to me, Sheriff!" One of them called out.

"Nah, it's more of a maroon, really."

"...Have you been working out, Sheriff?"

Mao Mao looked down at himself. He had always been fit- especially compared to the soft Sweetiepies he was tasked with protecting- but when he looked down at himself, he saw new muscle was bristling under his black fur. His arms and chest had thickened considerably, and his shoulders and back broadened. "Ah, well, you know," the cat slowly smiled. "You can't keep up with the levels of heroism that I can if you're not in peak physical condition. Now, uh… as you were, back to sleep everyone, nothing more to see here."

As the Sweetiepies dispersed, Mao Mao looked down at his body, smiling wide. Maybe the Ruby Pure Heart wasn't so bad after all. He tensed his arm, and new, hardened muscle swelled in response. The cat's eyes widened, however, as his arm did not remain still- pulsing and inflating, his bicep was still growing. "Oh, that's… interesting."

Mao Mao began his way home, but with each step, his body continued to grow. His stumpy legs quickly grew thicker than they were long, rippling thighs and sculpted calves cracking the pavement underneath his feet as he stomped and swaggered his way through the valley. His torso spread further and further out, his heaving lats spreading like wings. His chest inflated with each breath, until his heaving slab-like pectorals pressed against his chin, his bull-thick neck getting eaten up by mountainous shoulders. His sculpted, bulging arms were now thicker than his waist, biceps like cannons and triceps the size of anvils. A pity he didn't seem to grow so much as an inch taller- but by the time he burst through the door of the sheriff's office, splintering the doorframe, the sheer mass packed on to his dense frame demanded respect. Smiling toothily and ogling his own monumental body, stone-like muscle riddled with snaking veins that glowed faintly with the Ruby Pure Heart's power, laughed heartily.

"Badgerclops! Adorabat! Get up! We're making a little trip to the Sky Pirates."
