Hey all!

I've been trying to post more regularly to Instagram to get the word out that the Oscar Zahn Graphic Novel will be coming sometime in the (near-ish) future. The reception has been really positive overall and people have been asking how they can pre-order the book. 

This has been met with slack-jawed silence on my part.

I hope everybody is doing well during these uncertain times.  I had thought that being in a global pandemic and the world's worst recession in modern history would be the rock bottom that we would hit but apparently I was wrong.

I hope everybody's doing well and staying safe and healthy with this whole covid-19 situation.  We're just beginning to see the effects of the pandemic here in Canada as businesses begin to drastically alter their operations and more and more of us work from home.  For my colleagues and I, life hasn't been altered too much since we are generally solitary creatures anyways and we have the luxury of working wherever we please.  My thoughts are with those of ...

Progress!

This week has mostly been about visual development for the new Oscar story.  Last week I was not sure who my new character was but after this week, she's become a lot clearer to me.  This is what I know so far:

Young woman in her mid 20s.

Black (or mixed)

Musican (her weapon of choice, the Keytar!)

Drives a cool, offbeat vehicle (haven't made up my mind yet on what sort).

Needs to get to the city before dawn to play at a gig to fulfill a promise.

Slowly but surely...

... it's coming together!  

Every Oscar Zahn story has three elements.  Oscar's story, his "co-star's" story, and then finally the story of the journey itself.  Trying to get all three elements working as whole can be a maddeningly difficult process.  

If we were to simplify things even further, we can say that each character's story is essentially "they need to do <blank> but they can't because <blank>".
