Kafka supports every single one of his comrades, even if it creates problems for him. He is always attuned and empathetic. But that just makes it even easier for everyone around him to forget that sometimes the anchor needs a little support sometimes too. I actually think its even more realistic how everyone misses how much Kafka is struggling.

2025-10-14 23:24:48 +0000 UTCThe radio bit after the credits made me think of the Taishou-era secrets(?) from Demon Slayer. I enjoyed that. Regarding Kafka's failure to transform, I'm sad that the show is currently missing its titular character but also glad they are showing something very human in his character. The trauma he is still enduring from recent events hasn't been addressed and it wouldn't feel right to me if he just went out there and was immediately his old self. This is a very natural way to show that manifesting in his life. All the childish comments about "performance anxiety" are just pissing me off. How shallow are you people, really? I'm somewhat upset with Shinomiya Kikoru. After the training when she and Kafka were the last to leave the exercise area, she should have approached him, put a hand on his shoulder and let him know he's not alone. He would have done that for her. He really needs some emotional support right now and coming from her would be the absolute best thing for him. I'm glad she came to his aid in battle but that's just the duty of a comrade in arms. He really needs that personal connection. I understand that she's young and that she's also been through a lot, but surely she knows enough to just extend her hand, whether actually or metaphorically. The sombre mood of the series is appropriate but I'm hoping they won't continue it for too long. I'm guessing they will hold him back until the midway point in the season, though, and then bring in a more energetic OP and ED for the second half as Kafka starts to rev his engines again. I need some feelgood, action-packed, comedic episodes fairly soon. That's what this show used to be to me. I've even recommended it when I've been asked for an anime that's guaranteed to make somebody laugh. Season one started comedic and later turned serious. This season looks set to mirror that. I'm enjoying but I was hoping for some more laugh out loud comedy. I guess I need to look for a new anime to fill that slot in my emotional needs lol
