Watching his story again, crying over it, and seeing you cry over it too, it really feels good that I can share my love of this character with someone who has never seen him before. And I CAN'T WAIT for you to see what Sanji turns into later in the series.

Sanji's goodbye is very powerful... and it's set up by how the little brat and the old geezer always fought, and all the cooks too. They all said behind the door that they all acknowledge Sanji's cooking. Every little bit builds up for that wonderful ending and the words... "This is why men should not talk when saying goodbye." One of the best. I won't hint at anything coming in the future. All those soft spoilers set expectations and ruin the natural flow of the story as it was intended to unfold. The stories are crafted and events happen one after another. I want to let it happen and not set expectations ahead of time. Oh and saying that the titles are spoilers when they are part of the presentation, yet people setting expectations as to what is "supposed" to happen or how you're supposed to feel at certain episodes or arcs or whatever that should not be done, yea, it seems backwards. My thinking is when the show itself sets expectations, that is intended and part of the pace... when viewers set expectations that's meddling. Unless the viewer wrote the story... and no we didn't write it, we've just watched it in the past and now we want to take credit for it because it's so good. We need to hold ourselves back... Anyway it's probably not too bad. It'll work out in the end. I'm really enjoying the reactions they've been great! I just binged watched a whole bunch!

2025-03-13 15:27:50 +0000 UTCNotice that Luffy's first few hits to Krieg were to his face, but Luffy knew that he needed to pierce through that armor to prove that both his grit, will and strength supersedes that of Krieg's so he goes for the armor. Personally, I had a harder time getting on board with Sanji than the other crew members primarily because Zeff was so cool and wise. Luffy, Zoro and Usopp all have their ambitions and are willing to put their life on the line for them (Nami is TBD). Though Sanji went through, potentially, a more gruesome life or death survival situation compared to the others on that island, he was essentially sheltered after that on the restaurant with minor disturbances with Zeff only being the one that actually gives him trouble in both cooking and combat. Throughout this arc, Zeff is the one dropping all the knowledge and wisdom because he knows that he's going to send Sanji off with Luffy so he's fitting in the last teaching moments he can. I grow to like Sanji more later into the series so I'm not hating (please don't come after me, Sanji fans), I'm just sharing how I processed it on my first go around.

2025-03-13 15:09:30 +0000 UTCThe parallels between Luffy and Sanji are insane. Red hair Shanks and Red foot Zeff. Shanks lost an arm to save Luffy and Zeff lost a leg to save Sanji. Both Zeff and Shanks entrusted Sanji and Luffy with important things and both Luffy's and Sanji's dreams are considered fairytale. It's also why Luffy got angry at Sanji when he was about to sacrifice himself, he saw the similarities between Shanks and Zeff and knew what Sanji was doing was wrong
