That doesn't mean she's interested in him romantically or anything, though. She just prefers (favors) interacting with him.

I remember how much fun it was to work through all those mysteries and unravel the secrets, and it's also so much fun watching you theorize a little and put some hints together.

Also, I read into that comment her father made WAY to much and had some crazy theories that didn't get solved till much later. Feel free to take the plunge off the deep end with conspiracies in this show.

2025-01-22 20:01:20 +0000 UTCEveryone assumes that Maomao doesn't understand the "true meaning" of what the hairpin and its ensuing "privileges" mean, but we know how much of a gossip girl Xiaolan is (and we love her for it) so I find it hard to believe that she would not know or leave out the details on the significance of the hairpin. It's genius how Maomao negotiated the terms when she potentially could have thrown herself at him with her cute looks and..."techniques" to win him over.
