One of the greatest things about the scene and sound direction of Cowboy Bebop that put it at the master class of anime is the way it perfectly sets the tone and atmosphere perfectly for whatever kind of story or scene the episode is focusing on. It can go from Terminator type horror, pschological horror, to a funky zaney chase, to a melancholic gangster melodrama ending in a high octane shootout. The director is a genius.
