you are so lucky not having to wait this long

Tom

I’d rather it be said as unstable than crazy. People use crazy as if to say dysfunctional, which seems disingenuous to how much she has to offer. She could have been reached by Vi if all their interactions weren’t being interrupted.

Nathan Elkin

Not trying to be rude here at all but Jinx IS mentally unstable and does suffer from the fact that she killed her friends, she may even be suffering from ptsd, though that is not confirmed anywhere that I know of. Crazy is a common way of saying mentally unstable so Flexie is not wrong with her thoughts there. It’s not all just art style and animation, Jinx does have hallucinations of her dead friends, being lonely and depressed is just what allows her to interact with them and not just immediately right them off as hallucinations.

I feel like as the show progressed, you started treating all the characters with face value opinions, basically reducing every choice made to a one note mentality. All the characters are battling their own inner monologues, and it was like you missed most of the subtle expressions because you were quoting their flashy one liner dialogue. Probably 60-70% of this story is told through the art style and animation, and it was like the significance of the plot was reduced to the words they said, if I were to go off of a lot of your voiced thoughts on the show. It felt like you had put all the characters in a small box by the time you finished this show, reducing their struggles to simple solutions. There isn’t a single character in this show who is “right”, even if some of them believe in doing right. The worst example was Jinx, who is definitely not crazy. She is crazy intelligent but she romanticizes her own emotions because she’s lonely, and all the fancy editing is basically an indication of her wanting to talk things through instead of committing to one path. It’s only because everyone around her is so seemingly confident in what they want that she ends up seeming crazy, going back and forth between what she wants and what she thinks she should want. Not crazy, just depressed and intelligent. I don’t say all of this trying to sound smarter or treat you as if you exclusively have basic responses, but you have voiced it yourself that you like to understand stuff so you can enjoy it even further, and you’ve had clearer trains of thought with other shows. It felt like in this show you got caught up with how flashy it was and how cool the characters are, missing a lot of subtext that would have answered most of your questions about the nature of things.

Nathan Elkin

It would be cool for you to possibly react to the league of legends cinematics just as a different treat of sorts because many of them are also well done and show you how expansive the world is, but I definitely cannot wait for season 2

You're a legend. I never would have thought to look up the music video, but it absolutely kills. It helps with the desire for more arcane content lol

Charles

At some point you should listen to the live version of the song that plays in the end. Also if you haven’t seen the Imagine Dragons music video for their song it’s pretty cool and is in the Arcane world.

Gus

Been great rewatching this with you. Glad you enjoyed it!

Your reaction at 19:23 when he licks that guys head is hilarious

Fun detail: In the scene with the little sparklers when Jinx and Vi are talking, the little trinket the sparklers are stuck into is the same one Jinx picked up off a shelf when they were robbing Jayce in episode one.
