"JapaneseBonusTrack" to cease activities.

Hello, everyone! I hate to come with bad news but that's what I have today.

As most of you know, I am a full time artist, meaning this business is the only thing paying my bills and putting food on the table. As most of you also know, this "JapaneseBonusTrack" pseudonym is my secondary account: I have a main, different username I use for non-shota works.

In my almost decade long career I have come to rely on two different modes of content monetization to stay afloat: "subscription" models like Patreon and FANBOX, as well as "shops" where you can make individual, one-time purchases. Despite the subscriptions being extremely important, as they allow me to have a predictable, steady monthly source of money, the shop aspect is just as important, as it allows older works to continue being a revenue stream. It's a 50/50 split pretty much.

I had already been having some grievances with the shota side of business, due to it being a type of content that a lot of platforms do not allow. The Japanese platforms pixivFANBOX and pixivBOOTH ended up being pretty much the last hope for me, as Japan has historically been lenient with this type of content. That, however, comes with a price: due to the country's ridiculous laws, all pornography must be censored in some way. This posed a problem, as my business model had always been "post censored versions for the public, charge for access to the uncensored art". Suddenly that no longer made sense, I still had to censor everything even when behind the paywall.

Still, I made do, trying to use the minimum ammount of censorship I could get away with, and kept pushing on with both FANBOX and BOOTH, despite shota content making up a small percentage of my overall earnings with art. I kept going because it's something I really, really enjoy drawing and consuming. However, recently pixivBOOTH (the "shop" website) started asking me to take down works which contained "sexual abuse of minors", "rape", etc, something I still don't understand, considering the vast majority of stuff being sold there. The support team refuses to explain anything to me, leaving me in the dark.

So now, I lost the "shop" part of my shota business, and considering FANBOX is also owned by pixiv, I don't see this lasting long either. Some of you have/will suggest me other platforms like SubscribeStar, Hiccears, etc, but those have their own challenges which I don't really feel like getting into. Regardless of all this, shota just isn't mainstream enough compared to non-shota content, so I think I will be able to be much more lucrative and happy by just focusing all my time and energy on main. So, yeah, this is goodbye to JapaneseBonusTrack.

For those of you that were charged for this month, I will still post the finished Sousuke piece as a last hurrah. As for the winning poll idea (Byron x Pokéboys), I might adapt it for main, aging up the boys' bodies and making them "twinks": if you still would like that and paid for this month (March), I can send that piece to you free of charge when/if it's done.
