iirc when they were making the show they thought "Food people just hang out and do stuff" wasn't a good pitch for a tv show so they put the detectives premise there to get their foot in the door, and once people understood what they were going for they were safe to drop it

2025-05-20 09:26:31 +0000 UTCseason 1 is a little slow, but very funny. as you are seeing they pretty much dropping the whole detective aspect. which was suppose to be the core but they basically said *screw it* and now shift the focus on everyday random shenanigans. Which was the BEST decision they made. Because now you'll see them is the most ridiculously hilarious situations. What would ultimately make the show what it is. trust me you ain't seen NOTHING yet. Aqua teen is one of those long run show that Actually maintain it's quality through out it's run. where as show like family guy, spongebob, fairly odd parents, had their peak and would ultimately dip in quality. Aqua teen does a pretty good job and maintaining it's funny qualities throughout the years. I still think there best was the first 4 seasons. But the rest are genuinely great as well. There are just season you are gonna prefer over the other. but all are pretty damn amazing. and that because it's just everyday nonsensical crazy adventures. and you really didn't know what to expect. And much like futurama and many other shows. this has some VERY ironic and admittedly disturbing lines. We use in memes where as futurama has "SNU SNU" Aqua teen has" *Night....YOU* y'all ain't ready for the shit this show is gonna do. But you will absolutely enjoy the ride it will take you.
