Unfortunately, pop in generally but especially kpop is absolutely vicious with performances. If YG put out content that showed predebut members sounding pitchy, the majority of the public wouldn't want them in the group. It's absolutely cutthroat and unwarranted but it's the truth. It's a big reason why kpop had gotten so overly produced in every aspect. Idols aren't allowed to make even the smallest mistake or they'll be cooked alive by netizens. Personally I'm just happy they left in tidbits of the practice room singing so you can get small crumbs of what it probably sounded like all together
