TAEMIN X NI-KI Collab Performance & SHINee 'Chemistry' VCR Live Reaction and Commentary

I love their collab bcs both Taemin and Ni-ki have their own style of dancing. I dont know why the toxic fans try to compare it. Just look at them both shining and beautiful in their own way !!

Thank you so much for all the much-needed context! It's great that SM has finally begun uploading VCRs. Better late than never, we suppose :D

Taemin's backup dancers in Guilty were women. I feel like that's mainly because the dance is very fluid and sensual and many guys just can't compare to Taemin (and Ni-ki) with this style

I don’t usually like making comparisons, but Taemin is THE performer. He’s, of course, the strongest dancer in the group and one of the best in all of K-pop (and that’s being humble—honestly, he’s the best). When it comes to stage presence, they can all hold their own. Jonghyun didn’t dance much, but he could fill the stage with his powerful aura and charisma just by standing there and singing. Key is known as the all-rounder. From the very start, he has taken the lead in every position—lead dancer, lead vocalist, and lead rapper. His stage presence is insane as well, and he has delivered countless amazing performances. You should definitely check out more of his solo work! That’s the thing about SHINee—they each stand out as individual artists, yet when they come together, they form an undeniable force. SHINee has also been known for their impeccable harmonies long before EXO.

So VCRs in K-pop are essentially pre-recorded videos typically shown as part of a concert’s media presentation. In the past, it was uncommon for them to be released or uploaded to YouTube separately. Instead, they were usually included as part of a larger release, such as a concert DVD. SHINee had several VCRs even back in 2016 for songs like Woof Woof and Shift, which were included in the SHINee World V concert DVD. While Chemistry is a song from SHINee’s sixth full album, The Story of Light (2018), the VCR comes from their first Beyond Live online concert in 2021, held during the pandemic in the Don’t Call Me era. The concert was later made available as an online VOD. Taemin and Key both had their solo VCRs uploaded to YouTube, but I believe they had to push SM to make it happen. Taemin had 'Just Me and You' and another special video released in 2021, marking the first official SHINee VCR uploads on YouTube. Key later had his VCRs for 'Another Life' and 'Easy' released in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Since then, SM has started uploading VCRs, but unfortunately, Chemistry was left out and remains the most recent one they never uploaded—hopefully, they will someday.
