The week that was...

...BUSY! Having received the proofs for the two new Evil Inc graphic novels, I made a few small corrections and gave the printer the go-ahead! This is the part I dread the most. Until I see those books safe and sound in the warehouse, I'll be a nervous wreck.

On Tuesday, my former intern Asia Simone joined Dave Kellett and me to record an interview for ComicLab! After graduating from the University of the Arts, she found breakout success as the illustrator of Marvel/Scholastic's "Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur," and I couldn't be more proud of my young colleague!

As if that's not enough excitement, my younger son, Maxwell, participated in his high school commencement ceremonies on Wednesday. It was a rollicking good time! The speaker, Dr. Marc Lamont Hill gave a tremendous speech that had people on their feet. And watching my son and his friends walk across the stage to get their diplomas made me proud!

Finally, on Friday, I drove my older son Alex to the airport so they could start their month-long summer program doing archeological fieldwork. I'm super excited that they have this opportunity, and I can't wait to hear all the stories when they get home!

The new chapter of Evil inc starts next week!

The Fairmount Branch of Evil Inc is getting a new manager — and he's a tentacled terror! The branch has been losing money ever since Thea left to fight for her homeworld, and Evil Inc CEO Dr. Whoosh is bringing in Krakenos to try to rescue the operation. If he fails, the branch may be closed for good! How will Dr. Muskiday react to working for his old mentor again? How will the others cope with Krakenos' abrasive demeanor? Will it ever be safe to order calamari from the sushi place down the street?

Also... Dr. Whoosh's lithe assistant, Tempest, has her eyes on Iron Dragon. But this former ladies' man is now a one-lady man! (And a one-man man, too!) But Tempest is one lady who always gets her man! This winsome weather wizard has stormy intentions for the office's lanky Lothario!

A new Evil Inc After Dark page is coming your way! Wingman is finally able to free his guests who were locked in different rooms of his apartment with nothing to do!

OK... it looks like some of them found something to do.

I've also got some sizzling commissions, previews of the first Evil Inc pages of the new chapter, and we'll start the week off by asking why this frog looks so guilty...
