Collections and little updates! (Sept 2023)

So, August (and the first half of September) has been a really busy time, but now I finally have a bit of time to breathe! 8D

First of all, I want to announce that I have organised my Patreon-exclusive stuff into Collections! Like, finally! I've been wanting something like this for a long time, so that Patrons (both new and old) can access my Patreon drawings and stuff easily! (Look at the way I tag stuff, why do I have so many tags?!?!) You should be able to access them via the 'Collections' tab when you view my Patreon page. :D

(My Patreon page is also unpaused for September, and the Patron rewards will be up this weekend!)

As for what I've been up to, I've participated in an Inktober-style challenge in August called Augoost (where I drew geese themed art around a Vtuber I follow, lol). If you don't have Twitter/X, or you find it a pain to navigate, I do have plans to upload a PDF of those Augoost drawings on Ko-fi (payment optional) in the near future, if you're interested. :D

And then in the first half of September, I participated in a comic jam hosted on itch.io. You can view the submissions if you'd like. (Mine's this one.) I'll have it readable as well in this month's $3 Patreon reward together with the usual scene/concept stuff. (I'll eventually upload the comic in WEBTOON and Tapas, but as part of a collection of short stories, once I manage to compile them.)

Other than that, I've also been doing art commissions on the side, and I always seem to have stuff to do. I really hope I can actually finish The Ogre Cook's epilogue before the year's end...

Anyway, hope you all had a good month! October (a.k.a Spooky month) is coming, a good excuse for me to draw some witches again!

Pausing my Patreon for August 2023

Pausing my Patreon for April 2023 (and some updates)

Hey All, I'm taking a break and visiting family this month! That means I likely won't have time to draw my Patreon rewards for April!

If my Patreon remains paused for April, Patrons won't be charged when May 1st comes around.

As for what I've been up to these past few months, I had signed up for an upskilling course which expires some time in April, hence I was occupied with it. I'm also in the process of cleaning and editing my Masked Henchman episodes to post on WebComicsApp, which is also preparation for the digital volumes that I will eventually release.

And because I've been busy with these two things, not to mention my efforts to gain art commissions (which is closed until after I return from my trip), The Ogre Cook's epilogue will have to be put on hold until after I've at least finished editing my Masked Henchman episodes. (This may take me a couple more months to complete.)

I want to thank you all who are still sticking with me despite not really producing visible results. I am working on things behind the scenes, but it's frustrating when I can't really show anything when they're not done yet.

Delay in Patron Rewards

Sadly, I caught covid and I haven’t been able to draw much. I drew the $1 tier reward, but I still haven’t had the chance to draw the $3 tier reward. I will get to it as soon as I recover, but if I’m unable to recover in time, I would have to pause my Patreon page for January and resume in February. Sorry for the delay. ;w;

Happy New Year and My Plans for 2023!

Hey All! Happy (belated) New Year~!

I had been pretty busy last month since I was able to finally meet with siblings and family after like 3 years due to travel restrictions/bans and stuff. Also, my sister got married! 

So yeah, it was a busy end of the year!

So what's my plan for 2023?

To be honest, I'm actually not very sure. Because I haven't started a new comic series yet, I haven't been getting any sort of consistent income. Even though I have ideas for the next comic series, it'll still take time for me to make it, and I want to do it properly this time and make a large buffer before even posting it.

In the meantime, if I haven't found myself a full time job, I'll be continuing to post in Patreon, and open commissions in Ko-fi. I'm also planning to open a shop in Ko-fi selling digital volumes of The Masked Henchman. That too will take some time because I'll be polishing the art and adding extra art. (No plans for physical volumes, because that's more than I can handle at the moment.)

(I've also entertained the idea of posting a BL novel on Tapas, but I'll have to finish writing the first draft first.)

As for The Ogre Cook's epilogue, I'm about halfway through, but it's taking a while because it's still hard for me to draw. I'm actually still not back to my usual routine yet because family is still around and I would have to help babysit the young ones. 8D;

Besides that, I can't think of anything else. Chinese New Year is coming up soon, and that's another round of celebrations and meeting with relatives. 

There's so much to do and not enough time. I hope I don't burn myself out in the process. 8D;

Pausing my Patreon for December 2022

So... December will be a busy month for me (with the holidays and family finally visiting after 2 years of travel bans!)!

As such, I'll be pausing my Patreon for this month! This means Patrons will not be charged on the January 1st billing cycle!

I hope you all have a good month ahead! It's almost the end of the year! I may post a couple of announcements here and there, but if I don't, then I wish you all a Happy New Year in advance!

On another note, I managed to complete my submission for WEBTOON's Call To Action contest! I'll make another post dedicated to it.

Now that I'm done with that, I'll take a short break to recharge myself, and then I'll focus on resuming The Ogre Cook!

I should be able to resume my Patreon as well for August 2022. I'm thinking of posting some early drafts for my contest submission in the $3 Tier.

Pausing my Patreon for June 2022

Hey All!

It's been a while since I paused my Patreon, but this time I'm pausing it because I'm currently working on a submission for WEBTOON's Call To Action Contest, and I suspect that I'm behind in my progress. This means I'm gonna need the extra time to make it before the July 31st deadline.

With my Patreon paused for June, this means Patrons will not be charged/billed when July 1st comes around. I'm not sure if I need to pause my Patreon for July as well, but we'll see when the time comes. 

Anyway, when I do complete my submission for the contest, I'll post a link here and in my social medias for you guys to have a look!

My Plans for 2022

Happy New Year everyone! I figured I should lay out my plans for 2022 so that I won't lose track of my goals too easily.

So, first thing I want to talk about is The Ogre Cook. I originally planned for it to have two parts. The first part is nearing its end and it'll definitely be finished by the first half of 2022. However, what I realised when drawing The Ogre Cook, is that it's NOT an easy comic to draw. I originally wanted to challenge myself by drawing something outside of my comfort zone, and while I learned a lot from drawing this comic, it still drains me faster than my other comics. I had originally planned to work on my next comic project the same time when I'm drawing Part 2 of The Ogre Cook, but when all of my energy is already spent on Part 1 of The Ogre Cook, this is already an impossible task.

So, I regret to say that Part 2 of The Ogre Cook will not be happening, at least for the foreseeable future. Instead, I will be working on a much simpler slice-of-life comic to post regularly on Webtoon and Tapas while I work on my next big comic project (which will be a Space/Sci-fi drama) in the background. This will be my plan when Part 1 of The Ogre Cook is done.

As for the Patreon side of things, nothing much will change. I'll continue to post my monthly doodles in the $1 Tier. For the $3 Tier, I'll be posting concepts/character art for my upcoming comics interspersed with scenes and/or profiles. I'll try not to take too many breaks from Patreon this year. 2021 was a tough year for me with low motivation and burnout, but hopefully things will get better this year.

Pausing my Patreon for October 2021

I'm pausing my Patreon again this time for October, because I'm gonna use the extra time to finally work on that Masked Henchman (WildCat's) side story! (Patrons will not be billed when November 1st comes around.)

Also, I was reminded that I once wanted to post the Masked Henchman profiles on Webtoon and Tapas, but I haven't heard my Patrons' opinions on this matter. I'll put up a poll later to gauge if you guys are alright with me posting some of the profiles publicly on Webtoon and Tapas!

In the meantime, if anyone wants to support me monetarily, you can do so via my Ko-fi or Redbubble store!

Pausing my Patreon for September 2021

I'm behind on drawing The Ogre Cook among other things, so I'm pausing my Patreon for September to give myself more time to work and/or rest.

This means my Patrons won't be charged when October 1st comes around.

Hmmm what else to say....

Well, I have been fully vaccinated, but I'm still stuck at home and not going out unless I absolutely have to. I notice that my motivation has been going up and down more frequently. This year has been tough for everyone overall. I guess all we can do is to just keep on doing what we do? (While maintaining vigilance.) 

Anyway, I hope everyone manages to stay safe and healthy. Take vitamin C supplements and take care of your body!

Slight changes to the $3 Tier rewards

Hey All! So, my Patreon is unpaused, but there will be a slight change to the $3 Tier reward in the coming few months.

I mentioned in my Masked Henchman Q&As that I have a side story about WildCat to be made in the future. But because I'm focusing most of my time on The Ogre Cook (and I suffered a bit of burnout the past two months), I find that I haven't had much time to work on the final Masked Henchman Q&A.

BUT, I did manage to draft out that WildCat side story. But it'll be a while before I draw it out properly, so I figured, if anyone wants to read a rough version of the side story, I can post it in my $3 reward. It has 11 pages and I'm planning to spread it out over 3 months, starting with this month of June.

If any of my $3 patrons are not interested in viewing that side story draft for 3 months, you can switch to the $1 Tier (or unsupport me ;w;) in the meantime. (The $1 Tier rewards will remain unchanged and will just be random doodles.)

Also, I want to remind you guys that I have a Ko-fi page, so if there's anyone who wants to support me through other means, there's that option. (It's still a tipping page so there are no rewards, unfortunately...)

Hey All! I'm pausing my Patreon again for this month to catch up with work, once again.

Patrons will not be charged on 1st June.

My motivation for drawing is a bit on the low side, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to draw the final(?) Q&A episode for the Masked Henchman this month. But the Ogre Cook episodes for Webtoon and Tapas should have no interruptions.

Apart from that, I'm still ok health-wise. Vaccine rollouts are slow and I'm still waiting for my vaccination for Covid-19. Hope you all are also safe and healthy. Take care!

Pausing my Patreon for March 2021

Hey All~! I'm pausing my Patreon for March, because I need the extra time to catch up on drawing for The Ogre Cook and Masked Henchman Q&A's. This means that patrons will not be charged on 1st of April!

I'm still building up a buffer for The Ogre Cook before I start posting. Originally I was gonna post new pages in February but the action scenes took longer to draw. I should be able to start posting the new pages some time in March.

And as for The Masked Henchman, I have a couple more Q&A episodes to post, and I'm planning to post both of them this month as well. (I hope I have enough time to do all these things.)

Pausing My Patreon for November (and some progress updates)

Hey All, I have a lot of work to do this month so I'm pausing my Patreon for November 2020! (This means that Patrons will not be charged on 1st December 2020!)

And now for some updates on what's going on with my comics! If you haven't heard, The Masked Henchman is finally completed! (Now I'm just posting Q&As to answer any remaining questions about the series.) My next project is the resumption of The Ogre Cook, but I haven't started working on it yet, because I had been working on a (very long) series of commissions. I also have to edit some things for Dimension Hopper (which got Bronze for Webtoon's Short Story Contest a while back), because it will be posted as a WEBTOON ORIGINAL as part of the Brain Anthology.

When all that's done, I will be able to work on The Ogre Cook in December. (My Patreon should  be unpaused by then.) I also have plans to upload The Ogre Cook on Webtoons, but I have to format it to suit the vertical scrolling format. (Lot's of things to do!!)

Okay, I've managed to change the access of my $5 posts to be available to the $3 Tier. (Let me know if there are any posts I missed.) This went faster than expected, so I will be unpublishing the $5 Tier soon to prevent any new patrons from pledging to it.

Anyone who's still in the $5 Tier, please switch to the $3 Tier before the end of the month. You can still see the current Tier benefits, but starting next month I won't be posting stuff for the $5 Tier anymore. (I'll send a reminder towards the end of the month if there's anyone who's still in the $5 Tier.)

Merging the $3 and $5 tiers.

Alright, now that the Webtoon Short Story contest (my submission)  is over I can finally focus on other things, like my Patreon page!

So, this merging of the $3 and $5 tiers had to happen eventually, because it's unrealistic for me to come up with character profiles all the time, and it's was more work than I thought it would take. So, after the merger, I will only have two tiers, the $1 and the $3 tier, and I will be posting two rewards a month instead of three. (The second reward will alternate between concepts, coloured illustrations and profiles, depending.)

So, this month I will be making my $5 rewards available to the $3 tier. Those of you who would like to switch tiers may do so. I plan to unpublish the $5 tier by the end of July, so make sure you are out of it by then. (The past rewards will still be available for the $5 tier, but no new rewards will be available then.)

This is gonna be a lot of work so I'll take things slowly. I'll also send reminders to my $5 tier patrons to make the switch towards the end of the month. Then there's also that new tax thing that I need to look up again to make sure I understand it correctly. And I also have to update my designs on TeePublic and RedBubble. And I gotta get back to working on The Masked Henchman. So many things to do!!

My Patreon will be paused for May & June 2020

So, I've just posted the first episode of my short story for Webtoon's Short Story Contest. Given that it took me around 2 weeks to make that first episode, and with the deadline for submissions at the end of June, my time is going to be filled with working on that short story.

Soo, this means I will be extending the pausing of my Patreon to the beginning of July. (Patrons will not be charged for those months.) If you want to support me in some way during this period, you can check out my Ko-fi page, my TeePublic page or my RedBubble page. 

As for what's happening with The Masked Henchman during this period... I'm honestly not sure. Ideally I'd like to squeeze in an episode in May but at the same time, I have to think about the deadline for Webtoon's Short Story Contest. We'll see how it goes.

Pausing my Patreon Page for August

Hey All~ I'm pausing my Patreon for the month of August because I need the extra time to work on designs for my new Redbubble store.

That's right, I've finally opened an online store for Masked Henchman merch! https://www.redbubble.com/people/konoriarts/

If you're not familiar with sites like Redbubble and TeePublic, it's a print-on-demand service for artists who want to sell merch with their designs printed on their products. On the plus side, it means I don't have to worry about inventory and printing stuff on my own, but on the flip side, it means whatever product I'm selling is limited to what those sites are offering. (A number of people were hoping I'd sell the masks of the main characters, but that will not be possible with sites like Redbubble...)

So, yeah, I hope you guys won't mind another month of me pausing the Patreon side. Patrons won't be charged when August ends, and I should be able to resume posting on Patreon in September. Thank you all for your support!

WIP for the upcoming episode. I started working on it later than I had hoped, but I will try to get it done by the end of the month.
