Hello everyone!
I'm excited to announce that I've finally finished preparing the effect materials and we're now moving into the implementation phase for Shoost! Today, I'd like to talk about one of our new effects: the "TV Filter." This filter lets you recreate the nostalgic atmosphere of old television broadcasts.

You can now experience the unique visual characteristics of TV broadcasts from the 1960s through the 1990s. I did quite a bit of research to ensure each era's distinctive features were accurately represented.

- 1960s
During this era, black and white broadcasts were the standard. The overall image had an unstable brightness and weak contrast, creating a soft, vintage feel characteristic of the time.

- 1970s
This period marked the transition from black and white to color television. Even though color broadcasting had begun, the picture quality still had its quirks - unstable brightness and mild contrast levels resulted in a distinctively soft visual aesthetic.

- 1980s
This era saw significant technological advances, including changes in camera systems that improved picture quality. The contrast became more pronounced and colors became clearer. It was also when digital processing started to make its way into broadcasting.

- 1990s
Digital processing really took off during this period, resulting in even clearer picture quality and more stable colors. While there were still differences in broadcast resolution, the overall feel became much closer to what we're familiar with today.

The development process took quite a while since I started from researching each era's characteristics and then worked on recreating them through effects. But I'm really happy with how it turned out!
We've also revamped our VHS filter, which you can combine with the TV filter to create an even more authentic retro atmosphere.

Just like the TV filter, we're putting the same level of attention to detail into developing our other effects, so stay tuned! I'm looking forward to sharing them all with you!
