Simple Blender material "template" I use for most of my material renders. It definitely depends on the material so the light setup will change a little (plus compositing) but here's it.
It's not really anything special but it does include a special shader setup(original setup by LucaRood, tweet) to offset the UVs so image textures will look less pinched at the poles on an UV sphere.
The material (image textures at 1K, original material can be found here) from the preview is included as a sample.
