From the looks of that, if he was doing it alone. It would be a tripod with a remote or a time delay (most cameras have a 3 or 10 second time delay). I've done a few myself where I do a focus check before i start the timer and get my selfie with my camera. You can set the background before you go in front of the camera. My problem is that my smile is hard to capture and i'm not the type to smile a lot so I try a few times and most times, i end up choosing a non-smiling one. So it really depends on how awkward you feel in front of the camera. Martin is lucky that the camera loves him, he's photogenic. :D

What's the process of taking a photo of yourself like this? Do you use a remote or a timer? Do you use auto focus or manual and make sure you stand in the right place? How many tries did it take to get a good shot?
