The patient can only stare wide-eyed in awe.
‘Uhhh,’ he begins.
The Paramedic works long hours and hard shifts, oftentimes driving the ambulance all through the night. He’s encountered this before.
‘Got knocked down? Had a fall?’ he asks, surprisingly gentle for a huge brute such as he.
The patient is still staring, apparently forgetting what was wrong with him.
‘D’ya need a hand getting up?’ the big man tries again. ‘Need help getting into the ambulance?’
‘No... I’m - Wait, yes! Yes, I do! I need help. You’re gonna have to carry me, I’m afraid.’
The Paramedic heaves his huge chest when he sighs. How did he know this would be the answer?
