2022-11-19 19:41:37 +0000 UTCThe last image in this chapter is still one of my faves. It shows us a brief moment where Roger seems happy. I do believe it is the only image where Roger looks happy and content. And though fate had a cruel end to how he would live out the rest of his day this image still strikes me. The image conveys a feeling of such intimacy. Had Roger given love a chance and allowed his world outlook to change he may have had a happier ending finding a solution with Lawrence. I do think that Roger was on the edge of a shift from his dreadful supernatural experience but old habits are hard to break. In the end he was a miserable greedy man, but I just can’t help but think that there was a glimmer of light here. There definitely is a lesson to be learned here on how you treat people.
