It Happened One Night (1934)

#46 on the AFI List and a wonderful film! I was taken completely by surprise going into this one blind and not being familiar with anyone other than Frank Capra! I absolutely loved this gem of a film, and I am so excited to share this one with you all!

Enjoy!

It Happened One Night (1934)

I'm really glad you liked this one so much, Ames. It's definitely one of my all-time favorites — and you're right that the chemistry between the two leads just explodes off the screen. Also, you mentioned in your reaction how beautiful so many of the shots were. That's mostly the work of the great Joseph Walker, who served as cinematographer for many of Frank Capra's best films and who also shot several classics by Howard Hawks, as well as a lot of other top Hollywood directors. Any time you see something Joe Walker worked on, you're in for a visual treat.

Enjoyed this movie. If you like modern rom coms you'll for sure like this. Don't let the 1934 scare you away.
