This Week!

Hey Everyone! How goes it? It has been pretty hectic over here with the movie industry picking back up! I am extremely grateful to be auditioning again! Here is what's up this week!

TNG Monday (LOL) - S2 E13 Time Squared I guess Patreon really wanted you to have it earlier this week! Super cool epi!

AFI Friday - #54 M*A*S*H (1970) Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this one!

Saturday - For a little fun, Predator (1987), I have been dying to revisit this one! I haven't seen it since I was a kid and needed an action-packed summer movie to scratch an itch!

Thanks so much for all your support here on Patreon! Means the WORLD to me! I had to postpone the Live from last week due to my schedule, so hopefully I will get that this week! Additionally, it will be a Free-for-All nomination for Polls this week! Post to Follow!

I think the gender politics of M*A*S*H (the film, not the TV series) haven't aged very well. I loved it as a kid in the 1970s, but now I wince at many parts of it. It is, nonetheless, a superb war (really, anti-war) movie. The TV series (which had no input from Altman, and which he despised) started the same way, but eventually became, IMO, much better than the film (including and especially in its gender politics) and by its last few seasons it was one of the most intelligent sitcoms ever.

Sometimes I think that "M*A*S*H" is Altman's best. "Nashville" often gets that nod, I think it tries to do more than it accomplishes, not necessarily bad, but "M*A*S*H" hits on every cylinder. Better script, better acting, better characters, more control over the sprawling cast and stories, everything. Also funny, which everyone knows is harder than drama :) Looking forward to watching.
