2025-06-02 15:44:27 +0000 UTCI saw this movie around the time when it first came out, I was a 20 something newly commissioned officer in the Regular Army, a 2nd Lieutenant, and Reagan was the president, and it was right in the middle of the cold war and Russian was the so-called Evil Empire. We all knew back in the early 80's that we would have to fight Russian, there was all this fear about nuclear war at the time. This TV movie called The Day After was watched by millions " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOPaaHSjMcw" and they even had a serious round table after the movie with politician, scientists and member of the administration to talk about nuclear war :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcCLZwU2t34". And the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster happened just a few months after I watched Rocky. It was a very tense time, but the world survived. The next Rocky, Rocky V was ok, but to keep the death of Appollo in your mind you might want to watch Creed soon if you haven’t seen that yet. It is about t Apollo’s son and an excellent movie with the great Michale B. Jordan. OH by the way there is a Chernobyl mini series on HBO and it’s amazing!
