I remember watching this film for the first time in school some 16 years ago. Our Catholic religion teacher showed it to us in class. Very cool guy! I also remember the girls in my class not fancying the film AT ALL lol I guess they didn't get any of the jokes πŸ˜… There are so many gems in this movie: the Latin grammar lesson, the hilarious depiction of Pontius Pilatus (making a laughing stock out of the fierce and authoritarian politician), taking the piss out of Judaism and Christianity along with their customs and traditions, satirizing the neverending fights in Israel/Palestine between various groops, pointing out the disgusting hostility of the human race; This is one of those movies I could watch over and over again and never get tired of. In Austria it's shown on TV every Easter and I love it 😊

I love that during the "Yes, all of us are different" bit, there's actually an improvised line from an extra who goes "I'm not." It's a great addition and I love the fact that it wasn't a Python who came up with it. Holy Grail is my favorite, followed by And Now for Something Completely Different (basically a compilation of their greatest hits), which I definitely recommend checking out.
