Welcome Back!

Hey everyone! I hope you had an amazing holiday season! Can you believe 2025 is just around the corner? Time is flying, and honestly, a couple of days off wasn’t nearly enough for me (haha). But hey, I fully embraced the lazy vibes, spent time with family, and caught up with my bestie, Mel—which was the best. I hope your holidays were just as wonderful, no matter where you were or who you celebrated with!

I had grand plans for an "Ames' Bucket List of Movies Week" (if you’ve been on the lives, you know how long I’ve been itching to dive into some of these films). But… five days of much-needed relaxation took over LOL. That said, there’s one movie—cough cough Casino—that I’m determined to fit in ASAP. Fingers crossed!

Even so, this week’s lineup is shaping up to be awesome:

🎥 Tuesday, Dec 31 – HAPPY NYE! Closing out the year with Star Trek VI! I am so not ready to say goodbye to this incredible crew. 🖖
🎥 Friday – Open Range (2003): A big-time bucket list movie for me. I’ve been dying to see it, and this week feels perfect.
🎥 Saturday – Don’t Look Now (1973): My tribute to Donald Sutherland and my love of horror. I missed this one during Spooktober, so I’m making up for it now.

ALSO, get polls back in action this week! so keep a look out!

What a way to end 2024 and kick off 2025 with these gems.

What Reactions are you most excited about for 2025? I’d love to hear! 💖 Excited to get my Patreon-integrated apps going for more community participation and Merch in 2025! Updates to come!

Lastly, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of you for making this year on Patreon so incredibly special. I’m endlessly grateful for your support and the amazing cinephile community we’ve built together. You’ve made 2024 unforgettable, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

xx always,
Ames

Don't Look Now(!) Excellent choice. Definitely a top 20 film for me but it has what may be my favorite single SHOT of all time (I'll comment later). I saw this at a rep theater when I was in college (decades ago), and the print had the famous lovemaking scene edited out! (hadn't seen the film but had read about it). Don't search for this film on YouTube as some of the stills give away a HUGE spoiler. Director Nicolas Roeg was the DoP for Fahrenheit 451 which has gotten some mentions here; the lovely Julie Christie starred in it and DLN.

Excited for open range as well
