Lord oh Lord Tom Shanks will always beat out everything smh

You should do a great detectives poll, Ames. Three of the best come to mind Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. The latter two are Agatha Christie hero and heroine, respectively. SH is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, of course. Just a humble recommendation from the world's most humble guy.

I'm always scared to hype a movie with the amount of hype it would take to get a friend to see it, because I know sometimes those expectations put me personally in the wrong place for watching a movie. I saw The Departed after it won Best Picture, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was constantly waiting for I don't even know what amazing thing, with an attitude of "What's so great about this movie?" That said, Body Heat is my number one pick on this list.

Analytical Guy

Body Heat (1981) --AFI top 100 passions --AFI top 100 thrills --AFI top 100 quotations --Kathleen Turner Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year --Kathleen Turner BAFTA nomination for Most Outstanding Newcomer --William Hurt (R.I.P.) being in the movie is an added bonus.

I've only seen 3 movies in the poll. All 3 are neo-noir. I've seen none of the noir in the poll. I voted 5 neo-noir and 4 noir. NEO-NOIR I voted the 3 neo-noir I've seen: --Body Heat (1981) [my top choice] --Klute (1971) [love Jane Fonda in that] --Road to Perdition (2002) [vaguely remember didn't strike me but unsure]. Based on reviews, two additional neo-noir I voted = Blood Simple (1984) and Devil in a Blue Dress (1995). NOIR I voted Key Largo (1948) [on my watchlist]. Based on reviews I read today and advice from friends, I voted Double Indemnity (1944), Strangers on a Train (1951), and The Third Man (1949)

Great performance by Robert Mitchum in “Night of the Hunter”. Terrifying.

Bob Blankenheim

Wanna see BS soo badly

Amalia Wolf

🤣 I take mine like my women….dark, mean, and nasty.

Catchermag

I take my noir like my men ... black and white.

James Rogers

Oh, shit. Was trying to think of movies that are both sci-fi and noir, and I blanked on Strange Days. Damn it.

Raieldon

If you do Blood Simple, you will be the second reactor I've ever seen do it. If you do Body Heat, you will be the first! :-) But in all fairness, if you do any of these movies, you will probably be doing a movie very few reactors have done.

Analytical Guy

ROAD TO PERDITION on my list of PERFECT films... Can't go wrong with this one..
