I just finished the Dances With Wolves watch along, and I definitely need something more lighthearted before I go to bed. :D That movie was made 10 times better than ever watching it alone. Thanks as always for these great videos and I can't wait to see this movie again. It's been forever since I've watched The Mummy. (Spoiler) The thing I remember most right now is the first time I saw those Scarab Beetles eat someone. What a memory. :D Looking forward to this being another great watch along.

I second the Quiet American! Based on one of my favorite novels by my favorite author, and they really did it justice. Brendan Fraser and Michael Caine are both fabulous in it.

It was fun to try and listen to the mummy lololol thanks for this!!

There should have been subtitles for the mummy and the meji. It irritates me to no end when subtitles like these are missing. Brendan Fraser did most of his own stunts and really got battered in this franchise. So in the beginning it might have been him doing the jump instead of the stuntman. Beni is such an amazing character played so well by Kevin J. O'Connor. It's always great to see him every time he comes onscreen. Apparently his accents in the different languages were pretty good when he tried the different religious symbols. This whole movie has just such great cast like Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay (many female reactors have lusted over him quite hard when watching the movie, some wanted to have his babies 🤣) and Bernard Fox as Capt. Winston Havelock. Winston doesn't have much screen time, but he is such a memorable character. Love that he got to go down in blaze of glory and join the other laddies. This movie has one of my favorite Jerry Goldsmith scores, it really makes the movie so much better. There are a few plot holes, but who cares. For what it is this movie is pretty much perfect. I think in it's core the first two movies are a tragic love story. You'll get it even more when you watch the sequel. Don't bother with the third. Fraser and Weisz are so great together.

I always find this to be a fun watch. Fraser and Weisz have great chemistry and the banter is nice and snappy. I do wish more people would check out some of Brendan Fraser's dramatic work from this time period. Films like Gods and Monsters and The Quiet American are definitely worth checking out. A nice film to whet my appetite for the horrors coming next month.

It's such a fun movie. Although I think the version you watched was missing subtitles for what the mummy is saying. The subtitles explain why the mummy didn't kill Benny when they first meet. Benny starting speaking Hebrew, and the mummy thought he was a Hebrew slave, so the mummy says something like "you can be a useful servant." Which was kind of a weird plot device but whatever. What I don't understand was when they found out the mummy was afraid of cats why didn't the surviving two American guys just hang out with a bunch of cats?

An excellent film! Perfect blend of Comedy and Horror. I agree that The Mummy Returns is a great sequel. They took a drop in quality after that lol

Wade Wallenstein

Oooo! Ok i went on the mummy returns ride LMAO

A bit campy but works so well here. Good for a revisit every now and then.

The hanging looks so real in this because it was kinda, there was a problem with the rig and he passed out while filming

Absolutely love this movie. Can't wait to see your reaction. The first sequel is great too.
