Classic Film Noir Poll
Added 2024-05-14 14:00:09 +0000 UTCHello, everyone!
I reached out to some incredible Patrons for assistance with this poll, and I'm grateful for their suggestions! Exploring this genre has been quite an adventure. Researching these films has been fun as they all seem incredibly captivating!
You may notice that some movies didn't make it onto this list; I wanted to dip my toes into the genre first. Pre 1960's and "true "noir. (don't come for me)
Stay tuned for the next post for nominations all things Noir, Neo-Noir, and Noir-inspired! Trust me, that poll is going to be absolutely thrilling!
I'm buzzing with excitement for the week ahead – it's going to be fantastic! Can't wait to dive right in! Can't wait!

Wilder was amazing. Pity that he's been virtually forgotten outside of film buffs

Billy Wilder had so many masterpieces as a director, Some Like It Hot, Stalag 17, Sabrina, The Seven Year Itch, and of course Sunset Boulevard. But for me Double Indemnity is an auteur in full control of his creative process and puts him up there in the league of Hitchcock and John Ford and Chaplin as directors who actually helped illustrate in a permanent way the America that was taking shape in the first half of the 20th Century. I’m so glad this group (and it’s leader Ames) is delving into the history of film like it has been.

2024-05-16 19:33:06 +0000 UTCI rewatched The Third Man just now for the first time at an age when I actually understand something about anything. I dropped all my others votes just to vote for that one SO HARD.
