A Very Confused Pokémon Adventure

Whew! An early morning release...mostly because I just finished editing it and figured why not? At least for you guys, gals, and others. I'll probably hold off on the new public chapters until I've slept ;-). It takes like an hour+ to get them up on the various sites. Ugh.

Anyway, a couple of things about this set of chapters!

1) It's the first time I've actually written a Pokémon battle. I kept the only one that has much detail to it short and sweet for a reason. Mostly, because I have zero clues if I did alright with it. Feedback on the Battle Courts battle from Chapter 14 would be appreciated! Love it, hate it, think it's just 'meh?' Drop a comment and let me know.

2) Something I think I've mentioned before, but bears repeating, is that I'm mixing and matching events/locations/lore in this version of Pokémon a lot. Including adding some extensions on existing lore that seem logical, but aren't strictly canon to any version of Pokémon. It's very much an AU, and you should remember that before going 'It doesn't work like THAT!' to anything :-p.

3) Originally, I couldn't find a profile for the artist. But thanks to Shin Hawk, I can now point you to Velvet_Nymph's Pxiv. Thanks Shin!

Aside from those points, I'll just mention that I'm pretty happy with how this developed. I actually struggled a lot to get it properly going this month. This fic is the most happy-go-lucky of all of my current works and I wasn't in the best state of mind for that when I started writing it. To the point that I actually detoured and knocked out 5k words of a completely different idea I had just to get it out of my system a bit.

I may or may not publish that other project, it's...honestly more of a self-indulgent story than I usually write. With something close to an SI protagonist. Which is something I don't do normally. (No, Luffy is not an SI in Halfway Broken, despite people persistently not paying attention to me saying that on an irritatingly frequent basis. 'Alex' was intentionally generic and has almost zero similarity to me).

Anyway, back to this story. This set of chapters are just shy of 14,500 words. Technically slightly short of the typical goal. But the place it stopped was a good place to do so and there wouldn't have been another such for at least another couple of thousand words so...yeah. 15k is always a rough estimate and it goes long just as often as short.

As usual, the new chapters are attached here in various formats, and the new Master Files, containing the entire story, will be up in the Pinned Post shortly. I'll also be doing some Author's Notes for the chapters after I get that done. You'll be able to find them in the comments, as usual, though it might take an hour or so.
