My Hero Automata 118 & 119

Mostly because these two chapters are starting the pivot of the story away from a lot of the established characters. Which meant having to balance the introduction of new people (mostly OCs) without overwhelming everyone with a bombardment of new names.
If you wonder, while reading, why a lot of the new people aren't named yet, that is why. I'll be drip-feeding character names and descriptions in the future, so that people can get a feel for each new set of personalities piecemeal rather than trying to memorize them all at once. I'll also be including at least some familiar faces, such as Melissa Shield, Mei Hatsume, Uraraka, and Power Loader, in order to keep from running off fully into OC central. The choice for them to focus on technology development inevitably means OCs are going to be required, though. That's just a fact of life, since MHA doesn't exactly introduce a lot of support and science types.
Anyway, this 5,200+ word set of chapters mostly just introduces the new teams Izumi and Momo will be working with. Along with outlining some of their initial projects. For reference, since I didn't want too much crossover with the mechs and such in Displaced Hero, the designs they are going to be working on are based on the Fallout and Mech Warrior series. The Battle Armor and Mech Armors they discuss briefly in Chapter 119 are based on the Fallout T-45 and Mech Warrior Atlas, respectively.

Ugh, was too lazy this past while but now it's time to work! *Pops knuckles determinedly* LET'S DO THIS! MHA Chapter 118 Page 3 The results of people working together on those "project"... Edit: The results of people working together on those "projects" Chapter 119 Page 8 ...metal spikes that could be loaded into a "hopped" by the hundreds (Not sure about what to do with this but figured I'd point it out.) This'll likely the shortest of edits I'll be making for these story updates born in March. ...Not that I'm complaining. Reading awesome stories isn't a chore but a delight after all! Next!

2025-03-02 23:57:09 +0000 UTCTo be fair, it's mechs 'based on' rather than actually some sort of crossover.. I'm not sticking vacuum tubes in them ;-). Though I do imagine it still might annoy some purists who only want them to brutally murder each other instead of actually being used for good.

Honestly, my exposure to Battletech is almost entirely through fanfiction, and I got the actual mech information from a Mechwarrior game site (Though I was only vaugely picking out a suitable mech that would match what I'd already written). So I guess I just sort of brain blipped and said it that way.

Its actually called the battletech series, mechwarrior is specific subset of video games in the broader battletech franchise and all the robots are from battletech. Calling it the mechwarrior series is a bit like calling 40k the dawn of war series or calling star wars the battlefront series
