2023-10-25 21:09:32 +0000 UTCOk just finished the watch along and oh my the movie got even more emotional and brought me to tears multiple times seing your reactions as well.. This concept is new to me and I really like it! Im not sure why but I can't seem to sync it properly tho. Had to pause for a split second every now and then. If anyone have a workaround Im all ears =)

I can’t imagine the ptsd grief,anger you would feel/have after being to war. I always love when Brit’s play Americans vice versa LOL this story is unlike any other and I absolutely was touched to the core. Thanks so much again for being here and leaving your awesome comments!!

2023-09-29 03:21:37 +0000 UTCI know war films are difficult for you to watch, Ames, but I'm so glad you reacted to this one! It's one of my favorites. Even after having seen this film a dozen times or more, I still can't hold back the tears (especially when I'm watching with you, my dear, and you get emotional). Mel Gibson did an amazing job with the direction! The film is so powerful and inspirational and got so many things right: Tom Doss's trauma from WW1, his alcoholism, and abusive behavior (brilliant acting by Hugo Weaving), the love story between Desmond and Dorothy, the power of Desmond's conviction, faith, and courage, and the brutality of war. I particularly liked Smitty's character arc. Smitty transforms from being one of the most hated characters in the story to being one of the most beloved. (Some great acting by Luke Bracey.) And Andrew Garfield!! What an amazing performance! He was nominated for an Academy Award and Golden Globe and he won a Critics' Choice Award (and several other awards) for his performance in the film. He was just phenomenal!
