2025-07-12 12:42:40 +0000 UTCi was looking forward to this one, thank you so much! to explain the oppa thing, a younger female addresses an older male (but still in the same age group/generation) as "oppa" when they are close with each other - oppa does mean older brother if you take it literally (a younger sister would call her older brother oppa), but a lot of women also use it to address their boyfriends who are older than them, or handsome men who are older than them (such as fans addressing idols). this is also a heavily used trope in many kdramas. because of this, sometimes there is a romantic connotation to the word, and it implies a certain level of closeness. jhope could be flustered by the term for many reasons, but i think it might be that she's a really pretty girl who calls him oppa affectionately, and he was not prepared for that whatsoever LOL. there wasn't really any way around it, because he is older than her, and if they speak informally together, it could be rude for her to call him by "you" or his name directly. it made sense for her to address him as oppa, but i think he just couldn't get used to it at first haha sana is japanese (i think you knew this), but her korean skill is really good, so jhope was surprised by how well she speaks korean. most foreign members in groups lack some vocabulary or have distinguishable accents (even if they are considered fluent, so sana's skill is very impressive). this is just natural because most foreign members learn the language as a trainee, which means they first get exposed to it at a later age. sana being japanese is also why jhope was surprised she knows about the vcorn snack - because only korean students know it. i am so glad to see bts x twice together in this interview. their personalities match so well, and i really enjoyed their older brother/younger sister energy!

2025-06-26 01:33:42 +0000 UTCI'm not very familiar with Twice but they've always been respectful to BTS and their fans also are respectful with ARMYs (and vice versa ofcourse) so I like them. I loved this interview, it was so cute and fun!!! 🥰 I especially loved how Sana was taking Hobi's compliments, still humble but she didn't shy away from them and she didn't deny either. She accepted them graciously and I LOVED seeing that ☺️
