Today we’ll be joining RM with his very profound inside scoop on Map of the Soul: Persona. 💕 In this Live he shares behind-the-scenes stories, demos, and the inspirations behind his lyrics. He also mentioned he wrote 80-90% of the songs aside from the rap line’s lyrics, so we got to learn a lot about the creation of each track on the album. 😊💖

I became ARMY in 2020 and the first mv i saw was ON, very powerful. So when I started wanting to learn about their music I came across Boy W Luv and it was a nice song but I didnt pay much attention to it. I thought "Oh its a fun cute love song". Then probably like months later, I came across an explanation video of Boy W Luv and I thought "Explanation? I thought the song was straight forward". I watched it and I started crying to Joon's verse. Idk why it hit me the way it did, probably cause I didnt expect it to be that deep, or cause of how much I felt of his honesty in his verse. And then I started listening to the whole song again, and started to appreciate all the simple lyrics like "Im curious, hows your day? "What makes you happy?" And I started bawling! It is a love letter to ARMY. Even typing this makes me so emotional. Never in my 35 years of life have I seen artists care about their fans as much as BTS. Idk what I did to deserve knowing these 7 men, but I am so grateful. They made me feel loved and seen, made me love life again. I listen to BWL at least once a day in my car, now. lol

listening to joon talk about how he was interested in breaking boundaries and subverting the norm all the way back in 2019 makes me so happy that he got to work on rpwp and do a whole solo album in that kind of style <33

one of my favorite things bts incorporated into their work is jung's ego, shadow, and persona concept! i was studying psychology in school when these albums came out so i even referenced them in my papers and stuff lol, i love how joon always teaches us something new

ohhhh I was hoping you'd do this live! I've been rewatching his album reviews lately, and it always just reminds me how spoiled we are as a fandom... And how truly truly incredible their discography is!

joon’s writing skills and lyricism are nothing short of those of a poet, honestly..! “Love yourself” is something like they tried giving the message to the world and themselves cause joon many times said he also has been trying to do that all his life!! this reminds me of his new solo albums “Indigo and rpwp” cause when he was talking/reviewing that album even with jimin on “mini-moni” album exchange joon said something like “he was just some random young adult living in Korea, and who is he to keep giving messages when he even is still struggling to do that and wants to be carefree, not thinking about what other people think” already pointed this out on your album reaction pt2 but really wanted to point out this fun and amazing word play🥺 in Dionysus they are asking us to “get drunk on their arts and how they are the crazy artists here” like love that and specifically wanted to point out how Namjoon being the arts lover himself comparing it to alcohol, like “Art” is 예술 (Yaesul) in Korean and “Alcohol” is 술 (Sul) so he was rhyming “even arts are like alcohol, if you drink or take them in you get drunk on them too, fool” Qotd: I love intro persona so very much!! the lyrics were very much needed to me at that point of my life., also love home, mikrokosmos and Jamais-vu!!!
