2025-02-13 07:33:51 +0000 UTCCrescent I’m with you with “how on earth did Dynamite not win???” But with it breaking records… yeah, Taylor’s album broke an unbelievable amount of records for her album yet ABSOLUTELY NOTHING… so I guess that isn’t even considered I guess… they now have 13,000 voting members in the department and they say they’re changing. The Weeknd has criticised this award show but for the first time in a longgggg time he made a comeback at the GRAMMYs with a performance in hopes of fair change which the damn CEO is trying to do… dunno if he truly will keep his word (the CEO) on that cause things are still questionable 🤨 hmmmm

2025-02-12 19:18:25 +0000 UTCI want them to win a grammy so bad bc of much THEY want it. but these shows are so rigged and unfair. bc numbers don't matter...results don't matter...like how the hell did dynamite not win that year?? the success it got? the records it broke?? they mentioned in this live that they deemed the Grammys the king of all awards. but by now I don't even quite know anymore just how much it matters to them. Namjoon saying "I knew it" when the results were announced will forever be engraved in my mind. Ofc its still a goal for them, but I feel like there are more important things in their hearts. In Lets BTS, they mentioned how Grammys were their tangible goal but their number 1 was to have a stadium tour again. But I guess its a waiting game. what they want is what I want. thats all💜

2025-02-12 04:52:39 +0000 UTCBTS got a nomination (not as a group but for the album packaging for LY: Tear by Doohee Lee, so technically not BTS) so BTS was on the GRAMMYs radar back in 2018/9, they then presented for best R&B album which H.E.R. won... Marisol, BTS did perform before they got that Dynamite nomination, it was the 62nd GRAMMY awards where they performed with Lil Nas X because Namjoon was on a remix of Old Town Road -> Seoul Town Road, therefore Namjoon would've been eligible to perform but obviously all of BTS took part in it for the little stage time they had... then with the 63rd GRAMMY Awards they then were nominated for Dynamite and thus got to perform fully.💜🧚🏻♀️

2025-02-12 03:58:30 +0000 UTCUthman you are right there are so many categories, I cannot remember off the spot but there’s around 90+ categories, which some of those will be announced at the premier show and some off camera and then I think the biggest awards which I think there’s 9 are in the actual ceremony… It is exhausting watching it (but I will do anything for Taylor tbh, I have watched too many of these award shows god damn) THE AMOUNT OF AD BREAKS! Watching the Superbowl was worse, I was only watching it cause Taylor was there but LITERALLY they practically play for not even an hour on the field and the whole thing is like 3 hours+ cause of the ads… why does America have so many ads????? I always have to watch until the end because the Album of the Year category is always at the end and Taylor is in that category quite a few times so there’s me going to bed at 4am in the morning… us europeans are fighting through it, we deserve a trophy tbh, my lordddddd🏆🫠😴

2025-02-12 03:54:09 +0000 UTCQOTD: No. I watched the whole GRAMMYs this year (a few days ago), really just for Taylor but I wanted to also watch Sabrina and Chappell’s performances (which were amazing, totally recommend them). The two biggest albums in terms of streams was Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poet’s Department’ and Billie Eilish’s ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’, did they win a single award? No, they were nominated in the biggest categories yet went home with nothing… So if we’re looking at numbers then I guess that is not apart of the criteria. Then let’s look at sales… Taylor Swift had the most sales of 2024 for an album. So sales are not apart of the criteria then… THE F*CK IS THE CRITERIA?????. BTS does well in these areas so I guess we shouldn’t be looking at that. As much as I want to be aspirational, I’ve gotta be realistic. If some of the biggest artists can go home with nothing then the hopes of BTS winning an award is very slim. It took years for Beyonce too win album of year and she finally won it this year with ‘Cowboy Carter’… this woman is a legend already, she has the most GRAMMYs out of any artist with 35 awards… Queen have never won any Grammy and The Beatles have won 8 Grammys (yet they are one of the biggest if not the biggest band of all time). So, BTS may be nominated but winning? At this point it would be an actual miracle. The GRAMMYs this year was EXTREMELY competitive and there was no obvious winner (since every one of the nominated artists could’ve won (definitely with the women) so every time an award was being announced majority of people had no clue who was gonna win cause it was that tight. But yeah, I will stop with my ranting lol😂 oh and if you wanna know who got the most awards, it was Kendrick Lamar with 5 GRAMMYs… ‘Not Like Us’ was MASSIVE so I get it✨
