Some Real Life Stuff
Added 2022-06-20 09:31:02 +0000 UTCRight. So last week has been pretty barren for me, creatively speaking, which also ties in with why I've been quiet. I think I've started around 6 animations last week, and ended up hating every single one of them. I just hit a kind of animator's writer's block. No matter what I make it just didn't feel right, or it looked awful. It's probably tied in with my new job.
In short, it's just all really frustrating and stressful. My current employer didn't want to make a decision about keeping me on for another year, so I went out and got myself another job to start in August. Then, after I tell my current employer that, I'm suddenly clear to stay on, with more pay. So I've been mulling it over and just been kind of stressed and exhausted the whole week. I haven't made a final decision yet, but I'll probably make it today. On the plus side, no matter where I'm going to work the coming year, it's going to be 3 days, which means I'll have 2 days I can fully spend on animating, plus evenings and weekends. It's looking good, lads.
Anyway, I'll have an animation finished tomorrow, hopefully. I finally made a mockup I'm happy with, and it feels like I've got my groove back.

So far you've only put out high quality things, so I trust your judgment, but that's also under the assumption that you know exactly why you don't like a piece you've made, in which case I get why you wouldn't want to have other people point it out, but in the case where you're unsure, I'd personally love to see them !

2022-06-25 19:04:37 +0000 UTCHope you make the right decision with your job. I work a schedule where I have a week on, and week off. I enjoy it. The week on can get rough, but the week off makes up for it. So, when I can build a new PC i'll have plenty of time to learn all this DAZ, etc stuff.

2022-06-20 10:05:37 +0000 UTCI know how that may sound, but I think working on things for a long time, and just generally part of the creative process, easily result in tunnel visioning, and seeing the things you don't like way more than the things that you do like. So I guess my suggestion would be to post those animations in a place where you feel comfortable having them, but I can see how you might not want having things you're not proud of out there on the internet.
