Oh my goodness familia this might have been the best BTS Talk Show we have experienced! 💜💜💜
We are so grateful for all the inspiration and insight BTS shared with us like, how Covid affected them personally and how they as individuals copped with it.
Also it was cool to hear what songs of theirs helped them get through covid. 😊
If their goal was to give us hope and comfort with this appearance then they accomplished that!
And now we really can't wait till we get to finally see them!! It's going to be even more meaningful than it would have pre covid. Looking forward to that day, as we are sure many of you are... 💜

And we Koreans NEVER put the -ie to someone OLDER THAN ourselves. There is no word as "hyungie", the "-ie" attached to "hyung" is just the SUBJECT CASE MARKER, not the "-ie" like in he cases of Junggoogie or Jimimnie. There are two subject case markers, "ie" and "ga", and if the subject word ends with a consonant you should use "ie" instead of "ga".

They have to save videos for filming so it slows down how much they can actually consume, even though they've been army for 2 years. Idk how people can forget that when they signed up to this patreon literally paying for this content LOL

I mean I understand the need to inform or correct mistakes, im sure all of us wants to learn more about the boys and their culture, but being passive aggressive about it, esp towards people who don't deserve that kind of attitude, really always makes me uncomfortable. *sigh* I hope we always remember that behind every account here and behind every content creator are humans of flesh and blood who have feelings. Learn to thread your words respectfully.

2021-04-11 21:38:14 +0000 UTCThe “ie” doesn’t particularly mean “little brother”. Koreans usually add “ie” or “ah” to the end of names of people they know. I wouldn’t say it’s “affectionate” or “intimate”, but it is used between any people who know each other. It’s like a nickname, causal, not like a petname or something more personal or intimate. For example, Yoongi will even call Jin “hyungie” instead of just “hyung”. Jin also calls Yoongi “Yoongi-ah” instead of just “Yoongi”.

So to them it was like Tae said Jimin was the only one he likes twice. That’s why they thought he was joking, because he said it multiple times. It’s not deep or anything, people make mistakes and misunderstand things. It’s a cultural barrier, it happens. It’s not reason to make them feel bad about it.

But, they are taking the time to learn and always ask questions when they are unsure of something. What we can do for them is kindly provide them with information and answers. I hope this doesn't deter them from asking questions in the future.

2021-04-11 12:42:53 +0000 UTCI'm going to be sooooo straightforward here (take it or leave it) and say that what I didn't understand was why they were so shocked by how Tae was always talking about Jimin. when I was watching it, all I was thinking was how Tae said that he rarely says stuff like this and he needed confidence 🥺, then only for them to be like "he's trolling lol", "he mentioned Jimin twice!", "what is this FAVORITISM", like no bro, those are his feelings on his sleeve! 😭😭 so that didn't sit right with me, bcoz true ARMYs should know that whatever Tae says about Jimin (and vice-versa) should not be taken lightly.

What tae said about jimin being his “only friend” might sound funny to you but it’s valid in cultural context due to the korean honorific system. To make it easier: Jin, Namjoon, Yoongi and Hobi are tae’s “hyungs” , Jimin is his “friend” (being born the same year) and JK is his “dongsaeng”

The term "friend" it's only use for the people of the same year, that's why Tae's only friend in the group is jimin. There are exceptions, but overall, the last performances are usually the most important. Like Beyonce or Rihanna would usually close a lot of shows and are the most anticipated acts. It makes the viewers wait the whole time for the act. Lately that changed a bit since there's the internet, but it was especially obviously in like 2010, around that time.

2021-04-11 02:41:27 +0000 UTCon Korean award shows the last performance slot is usually given to the biggest artist so it's seen as a sign of respect and honor to be at the end (like how BTS are given like 30 mins to perform so many songs to close out Korean award shows)-- but we know that's not necessarily the same for American award shows, we don't automatically equate the last performance as the biggest honor. but I think the host and BTS chose to spin it that way that grammy gave them a prime spot almost at the end since that's how the Korean general public watching this show would think... even though we know scammys had other reasons behind doing that.

2021-04-11 01:43:37 +0000 UTCyes!! so true the difference between liking and loving someone. i say to my husband a lot that we have agreed to love each other and we do, but it's different to like each other. he's my best friend and i frequently tell him how much i like him and enjoy just spending time together. to tell someone you like them especially when you've spent so much time together like the members all have just hits really deeply and shows how you still aren't tired of being with them every day.

I don't think they thought Tae didn't love the other members, they more so thought he was joking around.

2021-04-10 22:11:13 +0000 UTC- flower boy - in Korea, when someone talks about a "flower boy", it means an extremely beautiful man - so technically, Jin referring to himself as a flower boy is the same as calling himself worldwide handsome, but in the Korean vernacular - I mean, he's not wrong, but still, same thing xD - Achilles' heel - I actually love that Hobi compared ARMY to his Achilles' heel - the story of Achilles is that his mother dipped him in the river Styx as a baby to make him invulnerable - but she held him by the heel as she dipped him, which was his one weakpoint - ARMY makes BTS strong and impervious to damage, BUT, we are also the one weakpoint that could, in the end, bring them down - this should be the lesson that we, as ARMY, need to also watch what we say and do so as not to be that weakness that could end up bringing our boys down - we bear that responsibility - during the Truth Untold segment, while the boys were being comedic, it was to help them get through the cringey emotions and sentiments they were expressing - but those things they expressed were actual truths, which is why it was so hard for them to actually say - when Tae said he liked Jimin the most, he meant it, despite them all being silly about it, and the rest of the boys knew it, because they have always called the two of them soul mates with full sincerity since the beginning - I loved this round table, honest, sincere, emotion-filled segment - we've seen them say these same things to each other all the time, with hosts or production staff off to the side egging them on into saying them, but I felt this time, they were saying what they WANTED to say, to who they wanted to say those things, and expressing a little bit more of their vulnerabilities, and I was moved by it - also, saying you like someone is sometimes more intense than saying you love them - you love your family, it's implicit in the fine print of the relationship - but to LIKE someone means you are emotionally invested in them beyond the requirements of the relationship, that you CHOOSE to care for them - that's why it was so hard for them to say it

2021-04-10 16:31:35 +0000 UTCJust to echo what some others have already said, in Korea, because age matters in terms of how you address other people, being the same age kind of takes the pressure off. Like, you respect your elders or you take care of those younger than you. So when you're the same age, people say they're friends. There's nuance of course but I believe that's what Tae means. (Hobi and RM have expressed similar sentiments). It kind of gets lost in translation. But also Tae and Jimin really are just super close friends it seems and I think the other boys know that too. :) Anyway, loved rewatching with you both! Feels like watching with good friends!!

That song holds such a special place in my heart because whenever I do not feel at my best, listening to the song and feeling the words deep in my heart, instantly makes me feel better. It's like BTS telling me it's ok, come to the Magic Shop and we'll comfort you. When the boys were talking about how the audience cheers and response to them gives them that adrenaline to just last for their entire show, I could feel the goosebumps. As an audience, I don't know how many time I felt goosebumps watching them during their concert.. it's a mutual feeling, really. I can't wait for all this to be over, and finally seeing them again in concert.. honestly, I got myself vaccinated just because I want to see them again. Regardless if it's in my country or elsewhere.. hahaha.. I'd do that for them..

I became a fan around that time and I remember how noticeable the difference between Seokjin pre-Fire and post-Fire was, he was suddenly coming into his own personality and cracking jokes whereas he used to be so quiet before. I loved the change so much, thanks to that we also started seeing how much he likes to bicker with Jungkook lol and we also got the iconic jinminkook chaotic vlives! ❤️

It made me teared up at the end of the show cos even tho I had seen this snippet somewhere in tiktok, getting to know their real emotions and longing to see Army beforehand made it emotional. These Korean hosts, esp the ones that u watched recently are great hosts in Korean variety shows and they really make BTS comfortable which Army always appreciates.

Recently, I've been dealing with resentment about my decision to go to law school now that I've graduated and am (happily) doing something that I don't need my degree for but burdened with so much so Ego has been a song that has helped change my perspective and comfort me. The idea that questioning my decisions, beating myself up about them, isn't going to change anything and reminding myself that I control what happens from here on out is something I needed to hear and internalize to heal and move forward. BTS have a song for every situation. They're like a trusty first aid kit or medicine cabinet. :)

Back then (2016?), Army bomb had only one color and Army covered their Armys Bombs with purple bags. It's called BTS with Dr. Jiyoung Lee. I know I'm not the only one that recommend this but it will be nice if you guys react to it. It doesn't have any bts members but the video is very resourceful about the ARMY fandom and BTS's history, and why Lee Jiyoung wrote a book about them. It's on YouTube, you can just type the title and it'll be there. I love you guys so much! Muah!

Technically they are all friends but V & Jimin, and then RM & Jhope are the only "friends" of the group because they are the same age. Im sure you know age plays a huge factor for them so being same-aged friends holds significance to it. Also! Jang Do Yeon is a comedian. The Dr. titles were just jokes about some of her nicknames. She actually hosted with Eric Nam (singer) a variety show called "New Yang and Nam Show" in which BTS guest starred on the first episode. You should react to that at some point in the future too. That was a good one as well!

2021-04-10 01:41:38 +0000 UTCHonestly they barely get korean media coverage. these tv segments are so important because the korean general public still don't know much about who bts actually are. so these shows really tackled some kpop stereotypes that bts don't fall into, such as making their own music. they also really explained their history and journey, showed their teamwork and love for army. they are on the news but still consistently through the years they've had their achievements sidelined in both korea and the world. so these are important shows they decided to go on.

You can just tell how comfortable they are with these korean talk hosts. I also love how BTS has always been themselves, they act just like how they will act in any other environment 💜

The way their passion for music, performance and army is honest and strong. Their commitment to their fans, their work ethic and the different values they share with the world are so inspiring. And of course how much they love each other....incredibly touching. A group of 7 massively talented men but very humble with big hearts. I love BTS so much and I am so proud to be apart of their army 💜💜
