[What-If 19], Baby Vegito Black VS Beerus is finally out!

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCfh3lzlAWw&t=863s
Hello members, this took a lot of consecutive effort and a magnitude of restless hours upon hours to make but it was worth every minute due to your amazing support!  Please tell me what you think about the animation, and this continuation of Goku Black's journey from What-If #7.
Ask any questions you'd like, and I'll try my best to answer!

P.S I highly recommend pausing the video at the animation's retro-like intro and at the flashcards mid-video. They include even deeper pieces of lore about previous What-Ifs, and the current one!

[What-If 19], Baby Vegito Black VS Beerus is finally out!

If we are looking at new fusions, what do we think would happen if Bulma engineered a device that attached the Potara earrings on two individuals at the instant their fingers touch to complete the Metamoran fusion dance?

Hi! Thanks! 1. The timing was off. He also couldn't make it there in time for this instance and not go unnoticed, as both Baby Vegeta and Goku Black would have noticed him. 2. I think they would eventually betray each-other. Goku Black's plan as you said, and as shown in the animation's prologue was to acquire Baby's Tuffleization for himself, so he can infect the other gods to think like him. For him to actually acquire it, that's up to the viewer's imagination, but Baby being a parasite, it is unknown what could have happened had they defused while Baby was still there. 3. That's a very legitimate question! Baby's siphoning of the Fusion's energy reserves have caused Vegito Black to power-down unnaturally. Else, Vegito Black would have been in Super Saiyan Rose and could not power down no matter what he did.

Hi again Hyourin! Been awhile since you posted the animation. Wanted to say congrats on getting over 500k views! I know it will make it to the 1m in no time since this was without a doubt your best animation yet. With that being said, I wanted to ask 3 questions that crossed my mind recently (Yeah, this what-if replays in my head more often than I'd like to admit lol) 1. I know Beerus sealed the Supreme Kai prior to meeting BVB. But if the Supreme Kai was unsealed prior to Beerus waking up, how come he didn't save Goku before being killed by Baby Vegita? What was stopping him? 2. Lets say in this scenario, Beerus never wakes up and BVB begins their original plan, would Black eventually Betray Baby? How would he aquire his tuffliization technique? 3. Dumb question but when Baby ejected himself from the fusion, was Vegito Black still in SSJ Rose’? Fusion with Potara while transformed does not allow the fusion to power down.

OMG. Reading this made me super happy!! I'm thrilled someone caught the fact that part of the "Shining Kamehameha" actually derived from Vegeta (GT)'s "Final Shine Attack"! The latter is one of my favorite attacks in GT, and I purposely made him use Shining Kamehameha so the viewers can have their FIRST subtle hint that despite all the twists and how far the story strayed from actual franchise's plot - *Vegeta (GT) is somewhere there and part of the fusion*! I'm also super glad you addressed this too - the line where he says he is anything but a Saiyan is intentionally reference to how both Zamasu and Baby; in their respective appearances in the franchise; ultimately became what they most despise and have forsaken what they stood for - Zamasu becoming an ugly mortal who destroys lives and brings nothing but chaos; and Baby becoming a barbaric Saiyan that acts without a speck of intelligence - unbefitting of a Tuffle (ultimately becoming a Great Ape, akin to the ones who destroyed his race). I'm extremely glad you read the prologue! I know it was huge walls of text and can be really tiring to read; I was worried no one would actually pause the video and read it! Thank you for this! Thank you for your time writing this comment! You made my day!

I wanted to thoroughly experience and observe this What-If many times before commenting. As someone who really got on board with, and still loves the Baby Vegeta and Goku Black vs Broly animation, I waited a looong time for this one (like many others). Firstly, I LOVE how BVB is just as much calculating as he is malicious-- with both Black and Baby in the driver's seat, he takes advantage of every possible angle to maintain an edge, particularly in his use of the Time Ring to dodge! His design is so satisfying, to, and it's PERFECT when you actually factor in how the fusion could actually work (body+body, then parasite); every expression he makes is on-point, especially when he panics, and the Baby starts to come out ("THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!"). His harnessing of combined techniques (an art form you've made excellent use of in your work) fascinates me, a favorite being the "Shining Kamehameha". The "Final Shine Attack" never got enough attention in GT. I think the best part of BVB is just watching him play his moves, and the culmination of Black's experience alongside Baby's inherent abilities, even when he's losing it. He certainly didn't lose his arrogant streak when scoring blows on Beerus, but showed respect for the Destroyer when UI came out. My favorite line is "Tch. I am everything BUT a Saiyan." The hypocrisy, yet accuracy, of this statement... Beerus is so well-done here. As a Destroyer God with billions of years under his belt, his preparations and combat prowess, as well as his knowledge of the godly realm, really give him a dangerous edge in the fight. He wasted no time assessing the situation, marking BVB as a dangerous entity with accessories/knowledge of the divine hierarchy, and making moves as he knew necessary to eliminate any means of escape. The beauty of this Beerus is that he's exactly what you'd expect from someone in his position, even without Whis giving him ideas: he knows by default that anyone capable of emitting godly ki all the way to his planet is a serious threat, and anticipated his life-link to Kibitoshin-- a move that's absolutely BRILLIANT. While the fused Kai must've been terrified, ultimately it was for the best. And when Beerus finally activated UI Sign, gracefully outpacing BVB, but limited initially on attack power, shown when he blasted BVB's chest to no avail. He's also still so snarky to the "Super Saiyan God" lol. I think the most interesting side-effect of this entire titanic fight will be how he views Saiyans in this timeline... while he noted Baby's presence, and Black's knowledge of gods, he still referred to them as "wretched Saiyan". I worry for GT Vegeta. The music fit incredibly well, as always, and I even picked up some of the tracks because they're so damn good! Choreography and animation, as ALWAYS, are insanely beautiful and communicate the intensity of the fight (note Beerus literally cauterizing his own wound, which Baby could've used to possess him-- SO GNARLY). I LOVE the background you give on the previous events, so we know more of Black's journeys before this point, and I particularly enjoy how the Androids were what triggered Super Saiyan for him. The overall atmosphere is so deathly grim and heavy, as you know this is the finale of a story, and two immense forces are about to collide. It's just such a masterpiece in so many ways. Baby Vegito Black is the fusion of my two favorite antagonists in the entirety of Dragon Ball, and you did him (and his end) divine justice. Excellent work, Hyourinjutsu. This is my favorite so far now, and I can't praise your hard work enough!! Can't wait for #20 and everything else in the future! Also I wish they'd make a statue of BVB. He's a fan character, but dammit he's HIM!

I think the only way he could have won was if he used General Rilldo's metal-encasing ability on both of Beerus' hands, preventing his use of Hakai to destroy it on his arms, and trap him there while Giru collected the Dragon Balls.

Another quick question: In your opinion, was there any way Baby Vegito Black could have won in this scenario? Was there any possibility of him actually beating Beerus, or is the only way to 'win' for BVB is to escape? What should BVB's strategy have been if he wished to be victorious?

GreenTurret

Hi! 1. Out-of-universe reason is because I had wanted Goku Black to slowly and gradually lose everything before he is ultimately taken out. In-universe, the reason you specified is correct, among other things. 2. You bet!

Hyourinjutsu

Your work is astonishing! Your dragon ball stories are inspiring to say the least, as well as well-written and well-choreographed! I only have two questions regarding the story: 1) Why did Beerus not kill Vegito Black right after Baby tried escaping and was killed? During the animation, I assumed that Beerus might've noticed that half of Black's fusion was an unwilling participant due to his unconscious closed eye, and thus waited for the fusion to run out before killing the true culprit. 2) Was GT Goku watching all of it on King Yemma's big tv or through King Kai? I imagine Goku would have been awe-struck seeing these powerful players enter the battlefield after he died.
