A ramble of solidarity for my Black listeners + some other state of affairs

I am deeply frustrated so much of this shit is even a thing because we shouldn’t need movements and hashtags to make people know that Black people are deserving of life. All people are deserving of love and care and passion without having to worry about their lives. The trauma that we as Black and Brown POC face is something few can understand, and I will continue to fight for you.
this means abolish prisons and pay reparations. This means hold people accountable. This means to learn from our mistakes and do better. This means to look out for one another and support your communities because the states and the governments won’t.
Use this tragedy as an opportunity to listen and learn and fight. Remember the names of those we’ve lost. Check in on your friends and stop sharing videos and photos of Black trauma for the sake of making a point. we shouldn’t have to see the worst of it to recognize that theres a problem we need to fix.
i will continue to be an advocate for the voiceless and an ally for my fellow comrades. You are all deserving of love and compassion regardless of your gender or race or profession or whatever. I will use my power and privilege to help those around me. I will not take advantage of my power to hurt you all and I will be a good listener when someone in this community and outside of it are upset with anything i may do and say. I am a human and I am here to learn and to protect.
