Some of you probably recall that I'd been putting off reprinting my four travelogue minicomics for ages, and finally set the ball rolling to get them redone last summer.
While the logistics of finding the right print files (my big fear) turned out to be No Big Deal, my hunch about supply chain issues was correct. It took SIX MONTHS for my printer to source the paper I wanted to print on, and then a further FOUR to get through the holiday rush and head into production! ZOWIE.
Granted, this wasn't a big deal because I had no conventions coming up, but I'm also kind of gobsmacked to go back and look over those emails from last year and figure out how long it's been. (I'm also glad they came through when they did, because I'm headed up to Alaska in a couple months for my first appearance since 2019(!) and I'd like to have something to sell.)
Anyway, the wait is over and there are now COMICS IN THE ONLINE SHOP!
This is part of the push I outlined in my nerdy income sorting post: getting my out-of-print items back into circulation so I can up my store sales. A big box of Baggywrinkles showed up on my doorstep today, too! I snatched it in out of the torrential rain just in time, which means I can start responding with an enthusiastic "YES" when family friends ask whether they can buy a copy off me, and also making sure I get copies back into Bart's and other local stores.
The last piece of the puzzle is figuring out a reprint for 100 Demon Dialogues, which is exciting but also daunting in its own way. (Did I already tell y'all that the cost of production at my previous printer has quadrupled since 2018?! I am pursuing some alternative options 😬)
So that's all that. Bit by bit. The last month has been dire, but I'm trying to keep these various ducks paddling across the pond <3
Onward!
