Hello !

From what I read of the movie and the trailer I watched, I began this movie being like "okay, so This Is Us vibes, a story of a family through generations, so emotional and sad stuff, like also sweet and good moments". And it was that, but better, because it's also the story of a family who immigrated to the US during that period of time, so it's mixed with all of the trouble to come, to not be taken away by the police randomly, to work and deal with racist stuff…

I cried a lot during the movie, with tears of sadness for a son dying, a lot for his father Jose who just wants to do things right, and I finished the movie by screaming to you "It's good tears, I swear this time it's good tears !" For sure, I was sad and mad because of what happened to Chucho, and also because the guy was supposed to be a miracle ! And I loved a lot Jimmy's story, even if he disappointed me sometimes. In the end, he didn't give up, he tried to come back to this family, with his own son. Loved it.

I'm still french, so I'm still sorry if my english hurts you.

Haha, I laughed so much at myself during the editing : I was crying like hell and really I felt the need to explain "GOOD TEARS ! It's good tears, guys, I swear !!" 😂🙈 My sister is a spanish teacher, I recommended it to her, but now I have to find the spanish/french version of it 😂

Loved your reaction to this movie! In response to your question at the end, yes I had a feeling there would be some tears (I nearly cried my eyes out when I first watched it), but a lot of it was good tears so I figured it would be OK. I first watched it just a few months ago, it was in a Latino film class I'm just finishing up at my local college. I'm really glad you liked the movie!
