After all of the first part of this episode being about the sword, Tokito and Genya, being so fun to follow, it was really disturbing to suddenly break that quiet and nice mood with a big attack by two Upper Rank demons. It was coming from nowhere and it took all of our guys by surprise ! It was really cool to see Tokito using his Mist techniques, it looks beautiful and I want to see more of it. And these demons are also really interesting and well created.
But : what about the "Old Guy" demon ?? Like in fact, he can divide himself into other demons, who have different powers but also different personalities ? (Yes, I saw the thing with the "qualities" written on them, but I didn't understand the thing about it yet) And how is it happening for them to reform the "Old Guy" ? It's a question of timing ? I loved that just one sentence said by Tanjiro impacted Tokito that much (or maybe it reminded him of something ?).

Yes, you're right, I forgot about it during this episode, for Genya ! And yes, they totally got me with the change of mood at the middle of the episode. And also to bring this big attack right now, episode 3 of the season, with an episode named like that etc. For your theory n°1, I thought about the seven capital sins, but it doesn't workd for me... maybe it's more like the Pixar Vice-Versa, they all represent one emotion, but if we go in that direction, we can have almost an infinite of them. And I said my theory here about how it can stop : a timing situation, like they can't have their own existence forever, they need to merge again at some point. And for your theory n°2 : if Tokito is this weilder's ancestor, he should have a mark on his face, no ? Or maybe it's not a "direct" ancestor ? I don't think they're gonna kill him at all, because Tanjiro needs to connect the dots between his own history and Tokito's history, so we need him for way more time than this battle (or even this season).

In France, it's "la petite souris", "the little mouse" : when you lose a tooth when you are a child, you have to put it under your pillow when you go to bed, and during the night, the little mouse will come by to recover (or not, depending on the family tradition) the tooth and above all, to congratulate/console you, to leave you a little coin or a little candy.

I saw that it shocked people when I said that the Vase demon had baby arms 😅 My question for now is more : ok each time that you cut off his head, you have new demons, but it's infinite ? and the level/quality of the power is the same ? And yes, I still that one is the "root". And I paid more attention during the editing to the fact that, okay they all have a different personality, but they all have also a different word written on them... I don't think it's the seven capital sins but why this word ? We'll see 🙈

2023-04-25 15:12:38 +0000 UTCHaha, I think that I was more surprised by Upper 4 than I was mocking him, and here it really disturbed me to see him almost afraid, like he didn't want to intervene, he was forced. I can not wait to learn more about his background for sure, but even more about how his "power" works ! Genya intervening with his gun in this universe without guns so far, I imagine that it was epic in the manga 😊

2023-04-25 15:09:47 +0000 UTCI think you missed it but it was mentioned in a previous episode that Genya is Sanemi's brother. Sanemi, in case you've forgotten, is the Wind Hashira also known as that a-hole that stabbed Nezuko to try and force her to eat humans back in S1. They mentioned his family name to refer to his brother so it wasn't that obvious for me at first too. Man, I love how this show keeps subverting expectations. Everyone expects the episode to be chill, then BAM the village gets attacked by TWO Upper Ranks. Wow. Just WOW. Okay theory time! No spoilers here! Just theories that I want to share based on what we've seen already and my own feelings. :) Theory 1: Hantengu's power - They all have something written on their tongues. The only one that I caught that was translated was the flying one's and it was translated as "joy." So I'm thinking he probably can split only a limited number of times based on the number of emotions he has. Kinda like the 7 deadly sins. And I'm thinking that if he hits that limit, these different demons will just start to fight amongst themselves until there's only one left. Maybe needing to eat the others to be whole again. Theory 2: Tokito - I don't know why, but I feel like something bad will happen to him in the next episode. I feel like it's too early to kill him off, but they'll probably do the same thing as they did with Tengu where they'll show that he's left for dead only to return out of nowhere later. I'm really wondering how Kanroji will figure into the story. Because for sure she's coming back. No way they just introduce her in the start and now she's gone forever. Damn. So hyped for the rest of the story!

2023-04-25 10:01:36 +0000 UTCThey really set this up to be a chill episode and then came crashing in with two upper rank demons. 🤯 If this old man demon spits and gets younger every time you cut off his head can we keep cutting him until we’re surrounded by baby demons? 😜 I think there is probably one true demon that needs to be killed but it hides inside one of these ‘fake’ demons.

2023-04-25 10:00:34 +0000 UTCLast couple weeks I seen a lot of people/reactors make fun of, mock or dismiss Hantengu (Upper 4) because of appearance/attitude, and then are shocked this episode after a taste of his power and I think to myself like what did people expect, Muzan made him Upper 4 by a mistake? haha. I'm excited to see how this plays out, because while yes, I have read the manga, it was a long time ago and I forgot a lot. Obviously major points I still remember, but I remember this season the least (Except the Upper meeting I was super hyped and remember it perfectly) and how the fight plays out and some backstories etc. So its nice to somewhat to be able to still kind of still have a 'fresh/half blind' experience each episode. This episode for example I remember how Hantengu just casually enters the room and splits (But forgot it was this early in the season), Genya having a gun and getting stabbed right away, but forgot all 4's powers and everything else.
