This ending scene was important for both Kirigan and Alina. The first one can lose that hope of maybe one day having Alina by his side, it's never gonna happen. And he learns at a moment where he's sick, he's afraid of dying or being killed, he feels all alone and betrayed… I think more and more the guy is gonna disappear this season. Because Alina is gonna kill him ? To cut that connection between them and control the Stag power ? I'm afraid of one of the paths Alina can take : she feels weak, she wants power quickly, she loves to be powerful, and Kirigan entered some ideas in her head, like the fact she's gonna become like him no matter what or the fact she can create light creatures…

Kaz finally had his revenge : Pekka, on his knees, begging him and being ready to give him everything he wanted. Kaz won, he cleared their names, he freed Inej and everyone saw him having the power in front of Pekka, so business is gonna smell good for him. But he lost Inej, or more he pushed Inej away. Because she's free now and he was afraid of her deciding to leave, so it was easier to fire her, and because he has feelings for her and he said it here, he considers that as a weakness. Stupid, stupid, stupid boy.
