Hello !
Who doesn't like a meta episode ? They are cool, the characters are talking directly to the viewers and through that, the writers are also talking directly to us. After all of these characters representing writing tools, it was fun to have this writer talking and to hear the discussions he had with our guys. A writer feeling pressured to create "a thing" for the show, to make it deeper ? And he's being tired of it, so much that he ends by writing only shitty stuff ?
Story Lord was not really a good character nor a good villain, but at least his story here was the good occasion for the writers to say everything that they had in their hearts. Like the fact they don't want to write things like it was in season 1. Or how they consider their success, coming from creativity but not from a special gift.

This episode actually aired after the show took a hiatus for a few weeks so the previously on kinda makes sense at the beginning with the first couple scenes being real scenes. Also 2 Batman references in one episode
