The review is long, I know. But come on, it was the final episode and even if it might be the shortest one, I had a lot to talk about. First, for sure, the very end, with Ellie's face : for me, she has doubts about what Joel said, and when he confirms his lies, she chooses to accept his lies. And I'm saying "accept", not "believe", it's more something like "I know you lie, but I want to stay with you, I trust you had good reasons, you need me, I need you." Even more after all of the first part of the episode where Joel opened himself so much to Ellie. And that's why she opens herself at the end, to prove to him he can trust her, tell her the truth, but no…

And for sure, the majority of my review was about the dilemmas of this episode. And I'm saying dilemmaS, plural. For me, the main one is more for Marlene in fact : to kill someone you love to be able to save millions of lives. For Joel, it's not even a choice, he would save Ellie, no matter what. But by doing that, he's erasing the dilemma Ellie could have had : to sacrifice yourself to be able to save millions of lives. Because he knows she would have accepted it. And it's a big thing, he took away her free will in a way. And he has another dilemma : to tell her the truth or to lie. For life. And to do everything he can for her to never discover the truth.
