Hello !
Looking at this episode from far, it's the classic TWD stuff, with really good action moments. Just look at it a little closer, and it's a lot of incoherences and writing decisions which are ok but explained badly. The main issue is "too soon, too quick" : Negan has a new group to defend, he found a woman that he married and who is pregnant, why not, but how can it happen so soon in the show and also in the story, and the infos are just dropped, like it's nothing, when in fact it's a huge thing for the character.
The scenes between Negan and Hershel are also a "too soon, too quick" issue : we need to have that at some point but here, it feels weird and off. The kid is coming from nowhere so the viewers don't have any moment to prepare for that meeting, and the writers are not building anything with it because they are rushing everything. It's a BIIIIIG deal in the show, for these two, for everyone, but we feel no intensity, no pressure, no emotions. Take two episodes and a few more scenes, and it could have been the climax of that second part of the season.
