This episode was long, emotional, painful, and the end finished me. I'm so glad that Uthred had this moment of goodbye with Aethelflaed, and that he reassured her about the choice she made, to not feel guilty about it, that he understands. At first, I was sorry Edward couldn't have that time with his sister, but with what he did at the end… I'm totally against it, him killing all of these old men, and like that, and for taking the throne himself and not respecting his sister's wish.
I was so glad also to have these scenes with Brida. Ok, she made me cry a lot also, but it felt so much better to have her like that. I said it, the three first episodes presented her just cruel and crazy, it was not right and logical. Here, I saw the real Brida again. Impulsive and violent, yes, but also so broken inside, so alone with her pain. I don't think she can really switch, but her daughter's death might have changed things.
