Update 4th Dec '22 (and plans for December)

Last week was a release week and a pretty smooth release week, in that I put v0.038 of HoHH out way before the usual last rush around midnight.

I'd already finished Leppi beforehand, so the start of the week was on finishing off Amoura D'Couer's repeat visit.

Second half of the week was the usual not-as-exciting post-release admin.

I think I've untangled the block on Dancing Lamia.  The scenario idea had a problem where I wasn't sure what would be the trigger for the Bad End (I already had a trigger for an early horror end).  I'm moving forward on that and hoping I can make some progress on it today.

As a backup in case it gets stuck, I'm currently in the process of typing up the red and black "symbiotes".

One area I did make a lot of progress was with coding for the Godot version (technically Godot training).  HoHH is a little bit more advanced than a regular CYOA.  The text changes at points depending on player stats and other things, and this is all handled behind the scenes.  Currently I'm working on putting a parser together in Godot that will do the same (and also mean I don't have to add each harlot scenario directly to the program - just load it from an outside file as needed).

I did get a little carried away on the programming work.  I think that will allow me to create some nice things in the future.  However, my current priority should be the Twine version of HoHH and the 4 new short stories for "A Succubus for 7".  I'll look to be a little more disciplined with my time in December and keep the programming work to its designated slot in the day!

December plans are as before - 1 new harlot for HoHH and then work on new short stories.

The first week will be seeing if I can write Dancing Lamia without getting blocked.  If I crack her, she'll be the harlot for v0.039.  If not, it will be the red and black "symbiote" harlots (two separate harlot scenarios, but they have to be released together).

I understand 1-harlot-a-month is slow release schedule for HoHH, but this is only a temporary thing while I finish the next collection off.  Once those stories are written, my plan is to throw everything at HoHH for a couple of months to get it properly moving again.

As always, your support is much appreciated.

I'm hoping that'll be done if the game gets more popular. One of the features I'm hoping to add with the Godot version is a meta save game file that collects all the information the player has collected on each harlot (with the option to fast-forward through a harlot scenario once the player has unlocked them completely). This would give it the roguelite 'progress' system that's currently missing. I don't think it would be too hard to implement either. The game already tracks 'scoring points' for the Portly Gentleman, so it would likely be using the same array and then flushing that progress to a savegame file on Game Over.

someone should create a wiki or a flowchart of all harlots in the house at some point xD
