Added 2021-05-09 22:59:17 +0000 UTCI was hoping to get off to a flying start for the month, but it ended up being a stumble.
I currently have two harlots on the go.
One of them is Sammy. She's a bit more than a regular harlot and ideally I want her in the next batch so she can keep her id number. I wasn't quite sure where to take her scenario, so I've planned it out and will hopefully get it written up next week.
The second is the shorter harlot scenario I was thinking of adding to May's release before the length and complexity of Hiru's scenario made that impossible. Probably a good thing, as she hasn't quite proved quick and easy to write. The first draft ran out of steam because it took me a while to narrow down on the character and the early description/dialogue didn't fit. I've started typing her up early as that normally gets things back on track again. She'll be a fairly straightforward scenario, but is in as I have a good idea of what one of the clans/factions is and I need to increase their numbers so I can start writing towards endgame 'queens'.
I took the weekend off to play Resident Evil: Village. Big Booba Vampire woman is fun, but oversold in the marketing in relation to her role. She did give me an idea for a story. While I don't ever write fanfiction, I might sneak out a story for Halloween featuring a suspiciously similar Lady D____ and her lovely daughters.

I wonder if Capcom anticipated her breakout success. If RE7 was riffing off "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Saw", then RE8 is classic old horror movie tropes. There are 5 theme areas around the village and Lady D's is just one of them. The other areas are also pretty good, but don't have a central character as compelling or as interesting as Lady D (Heisenberg is close, but I found him slightly "off" in a way I couldn't put my finger on). As for vamps... there is a bait'n'switch going on. As it's an RE game, I think most people will expect this going in. I thought the explanation for what the daughters are was pretty creative. The idea I have will likely do the same but will also include the horror philosophy I have for mixing sex and horror. I'll write something on this around the same time. It might give people a few ideas... Because there will be some "subverting of expectations" going on, and that will just annoy people wanting sexy vamp femme fatale, I'll see if I can write a more conventional vamp tale as well. I think this might be a good project for Lit's Halloween competition this year.

2021-05-10 12:12:27 +0000 UTCAnyway we can sneak in more vampire girls in I am all for it. Seems like Vampire Lady got the Vaas treatment for Far Cry 3, all the marketing revolved around him as well but then he wasn't even the main villain of the game.
